Grand Hotel Capodimonte

Our family of five stayed four days in two sea view rooms at c. A$1,000 per room a night through Expedia. The view is incredible although the kid's view was partly obscured by trees. Rooms weren't overly large but adequate. The pools are magnificent, the pool bar and front desk service was competent and we found everything clean. Breakfast buffet is good by European (not Asian) standards and the staff seemed to be trying hard and we found them most of them very friendly, although they were stretched. The hotel is well located, a very pleasant five min walk back into the bustling town and restaurants/shops, a 20 mins walk to the train to Naples/Pompei. We loved our holiday there and would definitely go back. The location, view and pools are highlights. Pay up for a good room. Be mindful of the room you choose/are given and be prepared for a very busy tourist city with all the pressures that puts on hotels.
