Very convenient, large hotel with 50's decor. Recently refurbished except for the first floor that kept the original details.... which got us a junior suite (a living room and a bedroom and a fabulous view of the Bay of Naples.) Would recommend this hotel.

We are a well travelled family and have never had such terrible experience like the one we had in the Royal Continental Hotel, Naples. The staff were not friendly. We were given a room that was not cleaned or prepared for check in and when we expressed our concern, we were given a different room. The bathrooms had a sewer smell all the time, the bath tub had mildew, the sink was not cleaned , only 2 bath towels were given for 3 people and there was no hand lotion or slippers. Very bad breakfast, you do not have the choice of picking up your own food. Instead, we had to request the staff to pick up food from the buffet for you. We had to pay extra for a vegetable omelette and French toast. The omelette had lots of spinach and water inside and French toast was nothing but fried plain bread with icing sugar on top. We asked to borrow some cutlery and were told we needed to pay €8 for this. Overall, we had an overwhelmingly negative experience at the Royal Continental Hotel and we would not recommend staying here while in Naples.

It was a nice hotel, but the reservations and cost to go to the pool when traveling with two small children was frustrating. Also far away from places, need to take taxis most days.

There were two main reasons why I chose this hotel over any of the others that I looked at. Firstly, because it had a swimming pool. Secondly, because it was on the sea front. Sadly, on the first day, I discovered that the hotel charges 5 euros "per person per hour" to sit by what was a very small swimming pool. As my son pointed out, that would amount to 100 euros for a family of 4 to sit by the pool for a morning or an afternoon!! Never have I been to a 4* hotel, that advertises that it has a pool, to find out that I have to pay to sit by it! Very disappointing. However, not as disappointing as the view from our room. Admittedly, I didn't pay extra for a room with an ocean view, but I didn't expect to have a room with a view that looked like I was in the middle of a chemical plant - with big metal pipes everywhere, and very little natural light! The hotel and our room was clean enough, but there was a strange, unpleasant smell in many areas of the hotel. I also found many of the staff to be quite miserable. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to others.

Loved the hotel and overlooking the castle. Everything was very nice in the junior suite but would have appreciated some glass glasses rather than just paper cups. Staff was very helpful and breakfast was very good—especially the pastries. Thank you for serving the hot drinks instead of making us queue up at a machine.

It is a pleasant hotel with a good breakfast. It's clean and comfortable. However, the Wi-Fi is the worse we experienced in our month-long visit to Italy. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in Italy, and it had the worst Wi-Fi. If you need Wi-Fi to communicate with family, friends, business needs, or to pay a bill online, like we had to, do not stay here. Wi-Fi was terrible and it created a major problem for us because nowadays you need good Wi-Fi to get anything done, especially when y0u are out of the country.
