The Central hotel is a great friendly lively hotel. Music in bar is great and as we had grandchild with us the pool is the best addition. Donegal town is a buzzing town and would b great for everyone to enjoy and this hotel is right in the heart of it.

Stayed at this hotel lots of times over the past few years and was happy to return. Martin went out of his way to get us a suitable family suite which was brilliant. Was great having the pool to use on a wet day. The hotel room was lovely and warm and the dining rooms were comfortable and inviting. Staff were really accommodating and dealt with any queries efficiently and to our satisfaction. The hotel is in a busy small town and close to Fintra Bay and Slieve League cliffs which are spectacular. Would highly recommend a break at the Central Hotel for its homeliness and its locality.

Amazing location right next to the river and with an awesome bar across the road that has live music daily - a great place for a fun few days with the family

Hotel room itself was lovely - great view of the river, spacious room. And the location was great - perfect for downtown Donegal and easy to get out of town on to other sites in the area. But the wifi signal was terrible (even the in-room tablet that should have had all the hotel info on it would never connect), which meant we couldn't easily check weather, maps, area sites, etc.. The bed was like a rock and I could feel the springs all night. We arrived at 4:15 p.m. (check-in is supposedly 4 p.m.) and the room wasn't ready; the front desk said 20 minutes. We came back 30 minutes later and the room still wasn't ready (front desk said another 20 or 30 minutes at least), so we left our luggage and found dinner and finally got into our room around 6:30 p.m. And then the wedding festivities started - children running up and down the hall yelling from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., and an incredibly loud band that kept us up until 2 a.m. - the drums vibrated incredibly loudly in our room, and we were on the 3rd floor. I'd never considered Fulsome Prison Blues a wedding song, but you learn new things every day. Add to that the shower that didn't drain properly (if you stayed in too long it overflowed onto the floor), the dirty tea mugs left in our bathroom sink by housekeeping, and the rudeness of the restaurant staff, and it was probably one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had - certainly the worst at that price.
