ITC Royal Bengal, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Kolkata

This property is very comfortable and luxurious. Buffet is grand and good coverage of food variety. Tastewise not evrything is excellent but quality wice pretty good. Pool is very maintained. Negative >Skylounge bar is a big bammer. The signature cocktails are not at all good same for classic cocktails. And there is not enough view from roof top. No open place Another problem is there is nothing for small kids like soft play area or anything though kids pool are there.. Oveall stay is very good for two reason . 1. Excellent room with beautiful view from higher floors of tower room . 2. Very much cordial and professional behavior of each and every employee . I will recommend for friends and family.

This hotel is big and luxurious, it has the potential to be very nice but lacks warmth and is unclean. Pros: big room, comfortable bed, pillows and clean sheets, good breakfast and selection. Nice pool. Good restaurant food. Amenable staff. Cons: extremely unclean. I was there four nights, the hallway on my floor was filthy and wasn’t vacuumed once. Someone had dropped a used cotton ear bud on the ground which I had to look at every time I stepped out of my room. My room wasn’t vacuumed either and because I was with my toddler the crumb and general floor situation got quite bad. Seems to be a green slime problem around the pool showers. I was given a high/baby chair at breakfast which was filthy. I told them it was dirty, they asked me if I wanted a new one, which I didn’t because I’d already fed my son on my lap. They simply took the dirty one and out it back without cleaning it. Room service was extremely slow. Over an hour wait at times. Staff can’t tell the difference between a lemon and a lime. After asking for lemon wedges three times and continuously getting given limes I gave up. The common areas are very brightly lit with down lights, white tiles and minimal furnishings. There are some nice pieces here and there but could really do with some rugs and pendants/chandeliers to create warmth. There is no taxi service. I’m not sure if this is a Kolkata thing but when I asked for one I was told to get an Uber.
