ibis Hamburg St Pauli Messe

Staff was friendly, but cleaning team does not speak German so it was not possible to communicate with them. I have lived in Hamburg so I am familiar with the area and knew exactly what I was in for. If you are there to party, you are in the correct place. We were there with kids so we traded the not so clean or safe neighborhood for the great location, very central, you can easily get anywhere from there with public transportation. The hotel was not very clean, aisles smell like cigarettes, carpets are stained, bathrooms smell bad and are stained. Daily service is only making bed and emptying trash, not really cleaning the room. Breakfast was overall ok. Bread was not fresh, boiled eggs were super over cooked with a grey rim on the yolk. Hotel price was too high for all the negatives.

Really an excellent hotel. I had some special transportation requests in mid night. Got a professional and caring service by Mr. Chitin which was way and above expectations, like from a family member. Keep up the good job !!
