NH Collection München Bavaria

Location is excellent, all major touristy attractions are within walking distance, and the hotel is literally 5 steps from the central train station (which is underground so there's no noise issues). The facilities are modern and updated, bathroom is very nice. The room itself is rather small and can feel cramped at times - we picked the one for 3 travelers so it had a queen bed and a twin bed with a wardrobe in between so there was some privacy, but the trade off is the passage way between the beds and walls were very narrow and hard to maneuver. There was a little bit of a frustration with our check in. We arrived at the hotel at around 245pm, a little bit before the check in time of 3pm, and we were told that the room was not ready yet. The front desk staff called housekeeping and was told it would be ready in 5 min but it took longer. We waited in the lobby, eventually got into the room at 330pm. Meanwhile, several other groups of guests showed up and seemed to be able to check in right away, so looks like it's an occasional issue that just our room was not ready. I wondered why they couldn't just give us one of the rooms that was ready, maybe because we reserved the room with the 2 beds. Also when waking up after the first night, both my husband and I found inset bite marks on the parts of our body that was covered by clothes during the day. I don't know if these are bed bugs or other bugs that somehow got into the room. Our kid in the twin bed was fine.

The hotel is ideally located next to the main train station Muenchen HBF and the U-Bahn and S-Bahn and it is simply to get from the airport to the hotel. The hotel is only a short walk from the Alt-Stadt (Old Town) where most of the shops, restaurants and tourist attractions are located. Being a frequent traveller to Munich finding the right hotel can be hard work, but I believe this to be one of the best in the location. The quality of the breakfast is of good quality with plenty of choices to suit all diets and generally the cleanliness of the hotel was very good. Check in was fast and efficient. The staff were generally very polite and helpful, my only complaint was the person working behind the bar did not offer the same level of customer service as the other staff members in in the hotel and this lead to me taking my business to another bar. I would not have any issues recommending the hotel to friends and family.
