Hotel Sonne

This was a lovely cute hotel, very clean and family friendly. Location is amazing. The staff are so helpful. Would definitely recommend.

We were surprised with a bigger room than we expected. The family room is actually two connecting rooms. Very spacious and clean! The hotel staff were so kind and helpful too. Breakfast was more than we could’ve ever wanted. Lovely hotel! Will be back for sure!

Our room didn’t look like any of the nice pictures on the Expedia website. The room was kind of dark and very hot. We had to ask a couple times about how to get it running and then it barely cooled it a little. The floor had some weird rubbery feeling flooring. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was not what I would expect from a nice hotel. Our kids had trouble with the shower area. The one area that was super clean and worked as expected was the parking garage. Also they say they have laundry facilities but it is one washer and one dryer for the entire building.

Need coffee in room. Breakfast is to regulated. Need toffer 2 prices… full and continental. The rules around guests in rooms are draconian. We fortunately encountered an sct of God to allow 2 of my kids from Rome to surprise us and stay. Well, plus extra charges for absolutely nothing.

This hotel is not only rated 4 star, but is also rated one of the top hotels in Fussen. Frankly, I wouldn't rate them higher than 3 star, and I'm still scratching my head about why they would be rated so highly. My only conclusion is that since we booked through Expedia, I suspect they reserve the lousy, old rooms for Expedia reservations. Check in was efficient and friendly. We parked in the basement and took the elevators up to our floor. Upon getting out of the elevator, we were in a plushly carpeted corridor, with eclectic decor. We started walking towards our room, and then all of a sudden, found ourselves in the "poor part of town". The carpeting in this section of the hotel was dreadful. We had booked a double family room - which was 2 interconnected double rooms. The rooms were OK - at best - basically they felt really old despite some attempts to upgrade some parts of the room. The bathrooms had some sections upgraded, but the showers were in a dreadful condition with handles falling out, large chunks of plaster peeling off, etc. The worst part is that it was hot, and the AC would not turn on. Tried calling the front desk, but got no answer. So, I went to the front desk. Initially i was told that the old section wasn't allowed to have AC - government regulations apparently. I wanted to tell him to not try and BS a BSer as the room obviously had a small AC unit in it (actually it was 1 small unit for both rooms)!!) Another guy from the front office was obliging enough

They charged us full price for the breakfast of our 15 month old toddler who didn’t eat anything and when we asked the woman checking us out about it, she acted as if there was nothing she could do about it. We were in a rush so we just paid it and left but it has been three days later and I am still fuming.
