Hotel & Restaurant Hackteufel

Our family loved our stay! The location, the hospitality and the breakfast was perfection. The staff went above and beyond and were fun to chat with. Easy walk from train station, too. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

This is a charming inn and restaurant just steps away from the old bridge. The breakfast buffet was quite good and the location is unbeatable, but what makes it special is its friendly staff and the owner. I stayed with children in the family apartment and it felt very comfortable. I would stay here again!

The owner was so kind & helpful. The family suite was huge & wonderful. We loved the restaurant, too, & it was in the middle of everything going on in the Old Town area. We would definitely come back!

This is an excellent property to stay at as a family as long as you are not a light sleeper. The owner is very nice, speaks English and makes sure everything there is taken care of. The location is in the old section of the city, you literally walk out the door and you have restaurants, bars, stores etc...The food at their restaurant for lunch and dinner is very good. Breakfast is typical European small servings where you serve yourself bread, fruit, small sausages, cereal and some cheeses. I mentioned light sleepers since due to the location at night people are outside downstairs from your window eating and drinking and talking until the places close down. It is fairly quiet and they provide ear plugs if the noise bothers you. For us since we were so busy we just slept as soon as we got back. We will stay here again if we return to Heidelber.

The hotel was in the perfect location, right in the heart of the old city. The staff was extremely friendly and the room was very clean. The restaurant downstairs, which you walk through for check-in, was tasty and I had both dinner and breakfast there. Would definitively stay here again. The hotel is boutique, with 13 rooms and family owned, which adds to the appeal.

My kid and I both enjoyed the authentic vibe of this historic hotel in the heart of Heidelberg. The central location was awesome, but we were immersed in the hustle and bustle of the restaurants below and the cleanup afterwards. It’s noisy (especially with open windows to catch the breeze) but not unexpected. Try to park in structure P12 as the hotel offers discount vouchers (10€/night) instead of the usual rate. We didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant but it looked lovely and the staff were all delightful, especially Dennis (who hooked me up with a much-needed coffee each morning and provided insider tips). Room Details: large size on the 3rd floor with two twin beds, a standing fan, fridge available but had to be plugged in, no coffee maker, no top sheets (but available in the hallway closet), bathroom had a corner shower, everything was clean.

Great location and the staff treated us like family, or better. We felt genuinely appreciated. Excellent food in the restaurant below as well!
