Villa Victoria

Between Hotels.com confirming my room with full payment made almost 3 months earlier, and emailing the Villa Victoria asking for an early check-in, when I arrived the hotel did not have a reservation for me/family. This is the last thing you want to experience after a long flight from the U.S. of 12 hours. I was left stressed and was left to figure this out myself. Someone messed up between Hotels.com and this hotel for this to occur. Once I finally reached upper management at the hotel an effort was truly made to help myself and family out, which I appreciated! (They worked very hard at trying to help out). Eventually another room was found at a different hotel which did not compare to the Villa Victoria. The cooling didn't even work! I'm still not happy with the recent response received from Hotels.com to address this failure and the prolonged stressful situation that family and I were subjected to. Beware, even with a confirmation received months earlier from Hotels.com along with full payment made, it still doesn't guarantee that you'll have a room when you arrive!!

Cote D’azur was beautiful. Room was adequate. We brought our son, and it was clear they put us in the ‘kids’ room as there were scuffs and scratches all over the walls. Shower was poorly constructed, very small, and leaked out on to the bathroom floor. Room had mini fridge and nespresso maker, no microwave, no kitchenette. We did not use their breakfast service. Staff was nice and accommodating, they put a pack n play in our room upon request, which was a big help for us, they also let me use the kitchen’s microwave in the middle of the night. Location was great; very close to the beach and street restaurants. I recommend researching restaurants and not just eating what is easily available, we were not impressed with the close restaurants (but that’s not the hotel’s fault). Off season price was reasonable, we paid $130 a night in November.

A good 4* Hotel close to the center of Nice, about 10 min walk to sea front, shopping area or station, each in different directions. Good breakfast each day with juices, bread, croissants, fruit, yoghurt and bacon with eggs available. Proper full-size bed for a child in the family room (not a Sofa bed) and a very good hot and powerful shower in the compact shower room. We stayed in a street facing room and the windows did a good job of shutting out traffic noise. Unfortunately, we had noisy guest(s) close to our room who crashed about and seemed to run up and down their room until midnight,
