Our experience at the hotel was very disappointing due to the unpleasant treatment we received from the manager. From the outset, there was a misunderstanding regarding breakfast. Upon check-in, we were assured that breakfast was included, only to be met with contradictions at the time of check-out by another receptionist. Although, after a discussion, we were assured that it had all been a misunderstanding, the manager approached us in a very unfriendly manner and insisted that we pay for breakfast, implying that we had misinterpreted the situation. Furthermore, we were taken aback by her threat to negatively rate us on hotel review pages if we didn't comply with her demands. This poor rating is not only due to the 60 euros we had to pay for breakfast, but primarily to the unprofessional and hostile attitude of the manager towards us, stemming from a confusion caused by her own staff. Regarding the facilities, although the hotel is visually appealing, the rooms turned out to be smaller than expected. We had reserved a room with a sofa bed, but it was not provided. Requesting a power adapter was futile, as they did not have any. Additionally, we were surprised that none of the four reception staff members, including the manager, spoke Spanish. The elevator was notably small, especially inconvenient if you're traveling with a baby stroller. The location was also uncomfortable, as it is quite far from the city center. Hotel itself is very beautiful and with this location you can’t really go wrong. Shops and restaurants as well as old town and the promenade are within walking distance. If you’re planning to visit further destinations, trams and trains are really close too. Please notice that the family room is actually two separate rooms with an access to a shared corridor. Door between this corridor and the public hallway can’t be locked. We couldn’t let toddlers be locked inside their room alone so having both room doors open meant that we weren’t able to have a locked door between us and the other guests. We considered this very uncomfortable specifically during the night and sadly the staff didn’t take our concern to their hearts. Nice is a great city and if you’re a couple or a family with older children, this could be your hotel.
