Escale Oceania Biarritz

We only use hotels as a stopover on our drive to Spain so we don't get to enjoy the facilities to the full. As we have a dog with us the hotel needs to be dog friendly, that's why we picked this one this time ( we have stayed in Biarritz before but try to stay somewhere different each time ). The receptionist was lovely, very polite and her English was better than our French ! She gave us a map of the area and even offered to babysit the dog if we wanted to go out to a restaurant ( the hotel only has facilities for breakfast). The room was a pleasant surprise. There was a separate toilet and nice modern shower room. The room itself had a desk and a small couch with a short flight of stairs going up to a fairly large bedroom that had a comfy double bed and also a single bed which was ideal for the dog. Never had a hotel room before with an "upstairs". The bedroom was large but the downstairs space was compact but there were only two adults so it was fine. We were a short stroll from the beach and there are lots of restaurants, cafes and shops, so lots to do if you are staying longer than one night. When we checked out at 4pm ( my hubby likes to get going early) there was a male receptionist at the desk and he offered us a coffe before we started our journey which was very welcome. It cost €15 for the dog which is a lot more than we usually pay but we were aware of this charge before we booked and in my opinion a small price to pay for such an enjoyable experience.

This was great for our overnight stay in Biarritz with two children. We could park our car safely in the car park (for an additional €15), and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The lady on reception was very friendly and really helpful and the breakfast was great. Overall a good find and would definitely stay here again.
