Grand Hôtel du Luxembourg

Stayed here with my family (8 yr old, 5 yr old) and loved it! Great was super clean and had a great view! We appreciated the history of the building and town. Great breakfast, has gluten free breads as well.

The hotel staff was outstanding. They answered questions easily and help arrange transportation. The pool was a hit with our kids! Worth the stay!

Infinity Pool! Need I say more? Very, very good service, friendly staff willing to help a poor non French speaker. They ordered food for us when we were late for dinner and helped us organize taxi trip to Normandy beaches. The hotel is in an old building but well renovated. It lacks the fridge and AC in rooms but it's understandable given the space limitation and age of the building. Typically, not having AC is not a problem in this part of France anyway. Having a pool to relax at after a day of sightseeing is simply awesome for me and my kid.

Our family of four loved Grand Hotel Du Luxembourg. It was in a great location in a charming city. It was easy to walk to the Bayeux sites, and a relatively short drive to see the landing beaches and Mont St. Michel. We were there in a heat wave and it was nice to come back from touring to the pool and hot tub. The hotel is not air-conditioned, but is otherwise nicely updated. We love a hotel with a history, and this hotel building was built in the 1600's so it has an interesting one. The hotel will do laundry for you, but at 8-10 euros per piece of clothing, this was not practical when four people have eight days of dirty laundry. There is a self-serve laundromat a short walk up the street that we used. The staff was very helpful, recommending restaurants and getting us taxis. We paid to have breakfast included in the room rate, and it was well worth it. Every morning we had warm freshly baked bread, and it was the best we had in France. Do not miss the buffet breakfast. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
