Hôtel de l'Exposition Tour Eiffel

I liked that the soap/shampoo/conditioner was mounted on the wall. As a heavyset person, the shower door was a squeeze. The toilet was in a separate room from the bathroom, as is customary in France. The air conditioning worked well, but the bed had some sort of protective sheet underneath, which made the linens very sticky. A note to English-speaking travellers: do not expect English-speaking TV in Paris - most, if not all, programs are dubbed to French. I have stayed in several hotels in France over the years, of varying standards, and this is true for the majority of hotels. I did not try the breakfast buffet - I prefer going to my favorite boulangerie for a croissant instead. The area has several small supermarkets and a Monoprix not far away. It is a decent walk from the Eiffel Tower, but doable (even with children under the age of 10). The closest metro stop is Charles Michel, and it was easy to connect via the RER station at St Michel-Notre Dame/metro stop Cluny-La Sorbonne for the RER B train from/to Charles de Gaulle.

We loved the location of this hotel mostly. It was close to nearby metro stops, great restaurants and markets, relatively quiet neighborhood. The room was small but sufficient. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. Also, a great pizzeria on the block that makes excellent takeout pizzas for the family open late! Convenient bus line on the block as well. I would recommend this hotel to friends and will be returning here next time.
