Las Americas Casa de Playa

This is my go to hotel with my family. All the conveniences for children and adults and a short ride from the centro.

We recently came 4/21/24 for my daughters birthday. Prior to our arrival I sent a message about it being her birthday and if we could do something special on the 23rd no one responded and when I arrived, no one spoke enough English to help me with this task. I have traveled a lot but there is usually atleast one person who is absolutely bi lingual at the front desk. Although people did speak a little, it wasn’t enough to accomplish this task I also thought I booked a room with a partial water view. It was a garden view. We had a cute double beds room and it was very clean. The housekeeping staff was amazing. Our room was next to the tennis court so a lot of noise for me. Also the kiddy pool was directly in front of our room. Although the property is kid friendly, the children were extremely quiet. It didn’t take away from the property at all. My struggle was the hotelI thought I was booked from the picture wasn’t where we were placed. Although it was the same property, the rooms we were placed in were like villas, not the tower. So no ocean, and most things advertised were in the other building. The pool closed super early for me, 7pm The beach closed 6 pm So being on vacation and just getting back to my room at like 4;50-530 made it impossible for us to be able to enjoy the pool area. We most ate off property but did have drinks and breakfast. Both were good. Change money at your bank at home before arrival. The staff was a solid 8-10.

The property was nice. It was great for kids to play and have a good time. The pools and playgrounds and staff that set up the games for the children were great. The restaurants breakfast was the best part of the food. The restaurants lunch and dinner were adequate. I excepted food to be more culturally appropriate but it was very Americanized. The staff at the front desk were not friendly. They tried to over charge us upon arriving. Lied to us about the costs. It was disheartening because that was the first impression we received upon arriving to Colombia it ruined the rest of our stay. If this had not been our experience I would be saying we would for sure come back but unfortunately we will not. We will be staying at another resort next time.

Very good for families with children.

The rooms are a little outdated. But the property was nice and well kept. The pools were very nice, one for kids and the other for adults. The beach was gorgeous, very clean and maintained. The front desk staff was nice and friendly

Great place for children and big families

The property has a great location, and it has very good amenities for adults and kids. Restaurant staff is just the worst compared to any other hotel I’ve stayed at. Had to talk to the staff manager. At certain point I heard another guest was told his order was not taken because he didn’t confirm he wanted to order. Hahaha. Crazy, they forgot and gave all sort of excuses. Sheets seemed dirty, later I fortunately noticed they were dirty.

I loved this hotel as it was a perfect experience for my toddler. They had everything to keep him happy and not wanting to leave. A mini child waterpark, playground, play center opened until 10pm, mini golf course, mini soccer field, pools and a beach front. The rooms were sufficient and clean. My only compliant would be that there was not a microwave in the room to heat up food. It is a short distance and cheap ride to El Centro. Other than that it was a overall great experience.

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodative to our needs. I have a kid with allergies and the kitchen cooked difference things for him..

Was quite disappointed in our stay. I booked a room that had photos of a balcony with a hammock. We were moved to a "kids room" with bunk beds that my kids wouldn't use at the very end of the furthest hallway across from a parking lot that was separated from the street by a small fence. There was construction happening on the building in the parking lot so part of the hallway was covered by a tarp. It felt quite unsafe for a single mom with two young kids. No one explained the wifi, where to get towels, or the restaurant options. We tried to eat at two different places that were closed for private events. Very disappointing.
