Novotel Medellín El Tesoro

The hotel itself is connected with an upscale shopping center . It is very convenient . The hotel itself is modern, clean and the restaurants are very good. I would normally provide 4 or 5 stars however one thing anyone deciding to stay here is that this hotel does not allow any visitors to come by and say hello , to include family/relatives, or friends . I had a cousin visit and 1 employee who was kind said there is no problem as long as they don’t stay . While I arrived at my unit , my phone rang repeatedly and some woman informed me to come down and that no guests are allowed . I went downstairs and the woman was no where to be seen . Another gentleman told me I had to pay 100 dollars for my cousin coming to visit . I ultimately paid and my cousin left after 10 minutes. I complained to management who he apologized however I really hope they fire the night shift staff because they were extremely rude, unprofessional and disrespectful.

Disappointing for a property in such a high-end neighborhood, connected to an excellent mall. The room itself was nice, the pool small and the gym is decent. The major disappointment was the staff. We got the impression that they were primarily a bunch of young kids who really did not know what they were doing. A few examples: Despite repeatedly giving them our credit card for incidentals, it was only after multiple attempts that we were able to charge anything to the room. We ordered room service every morning, but they did not get our order correct for our entire stay. The room appeared superficially clean, however I happen to walk across it in my bare feet one morning and was appalled to see how much dust washed off in the shower. I twice asked to have a pair of pants Xpress cleaned, only to be reminded, twice, that I needed to have it ready by 8:30 for standard cleaning. Of course, I did not want standard cleaning, I wanted Xpress cleaning – which they eventually accomplished. Overall, a hotel with tremendous potential in what is arguably the nicest part of Medellin conveniently located next to a terrific mall. But it falls down badly in customer service.

Great location when visiting for leisure with family. Friendly staff and great value

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The facilities were very nice. The front desk was very helpful. The views were wonderful and being next to a mall was very convenient. There seemed to be a smell down the hall that was pungent. Knowing that smell was there the hotel should have put us on another floor. Also our room was directly underneath the restaurant so every morning we were awakened by chairs above us scraping the floor. Room service on one day was a little over an hour even though they said 30 minutes and the next day they forgot one of our meals. I would stay there again if I could get a room on a higher floor. Grateful for this bottle to be the first experience in Columbia.

Excellent place and service, breakfast was spectacular. I really have no complaint. Just a couple of suggestions, make sure that your reservation is not adjacent to someone with dogs if you want complete silence and also do not forget your tooth paste and brush other wise you will end up paying for a very tiny sample that should be free and when I say tiny I mean baby size. You will be better off getting them from the vending machine, they are bigger and cheaper but over all, everything else was great.
