Red Rock Inn

I stayed overnight while traveling with my two sons (high school and college-aged), and they said "this is the best place we've ever stayed." My own view is that this place has what I fondly call 'character' that you rarely get to see any more. Don't expect some sterile, perfectly tidy franchise that wants the world to feel the same everywhere you go. This place is a beautiful facility that feels like a combination of a lodge in the Chronicles of Narnia and your favorite great uncle's bachelor pad. The life and local roots of the proprietor are on full display; many fun surprises await; my boys loved the pool table game room (with some classic games they hadn't seen anywhere else); the setting was quiet and peaceful. A magnificent surprise for our last minute reservation. If "urban sophistication" approximates a phrase that well describes the hotels where you like to stay, then this place will probably stretch your limits. If you abhor novelties, pass on this place. Those who enjoy unpretentious creative imagination will likely leave smiling. We'll be telling friends and family they should stay here if they're ever in the vicinity.

Very interesting place. I felt like I was transported back to my early childhood. Very nostalgic.

Amazing place. It’s not just a hotel, it’s an experience, you feel like traveling in time, and I was so welcomed by the staff, specially Don. I definitely want to get back there with the whole family.

Nice place to stay. We enjoyed playing ping pong. babyfoot, and shuffleboard after the long drive.

Great stay, excellent staff that were very friendly and informative. We were surprised and delighted when we were invited to join their family/staff Thanksgiving dinner!

Family owned and operated - superb customer service. Lobby was cluttered with memorabilia but the rooms were tidy and clean. Fun basement for the kids to play in too - pool table, fuseball, shuffleboard, ping pong.

My husband and I stayed at Red Rock Inn from Markham driving via Sault Ste Marie to Thunder Bay. It was a long drive by my husband all-by-himself. We had a beautiful antique type of room with a fireplace and balcony to enjoy the sunrise. We woke up at 5:45am just for the gorgeous colour of the sky from dark to bright mixing with all the colour. We even used the restaurant type of to enjoy our steaks at the great dining hall. We would like to thank Dan, Leslie (& her brother) to make sure our stay was amazing and memorable. Thanks again…will definitely recommend to all my friends and family…Looking forward of staying there again….Cheers, Jay and Chung

The Red Rock Inn surpassed any and all expectations we had. From the moment we walked through the door to checkout we were treated like family in an environment that truly felt like home. Don and Lecy have put together a fantastic Inn that’s steeped in history, memories, and experiences. They have a wealth of knowledge of the area, things to do, see, and visit, as well as a wealth of life experiences and stories to share! Our room was well equipped and very clean, with plenty of power outlets and good WiFi. The complimentary breakfast was well optioned, with fresh baked goods available, and the coffee was fantastic! We will definitely be staying again and have let our friends know to stop by on their travels too!
