Bayside Resort, Ascend Hotel Collection

We stayed for a little local vacation (we live on Vancouver Island) and it was great. Really friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Clean room, comfortable bed and nice view off the balcony. Great restaurant as well. Our child loved the pools. We will be back!

Only issue was the noise at night from other guests running up and down the hallways. We had a baby trying to sleep and this woke her up twice. Bayside Cafe was very limited in GF options.

Beautiful stay. Front desk staff were lovely. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the view was breathtaking. The kids had their first room-service ice cream experience, and were totally blissed out. We woke up early and watched the sunset on the beach, it was an incredible experience. This is one of those special properties. We will be back.

Beautiful property and clean, modern coastal rooms. The hotel has everything you need and the outdoor heated pool was a favourite among our toddler. We also loved that its location is right on the beach with a patio overlooking the water. The only thing I would improve is the cafe. Nice if you’re in a rush but a bit subpar for the price. Overall a wonderful experience and we would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was great overall. It's location is perfect, right on the beach. The kids loved the outdoor pool, the restaurant on site is excellent, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The only thing we didn't like was the water pressure in the shower. It was quite poor, making it difficult to easily wash up after a day at the beach. It's not a deal-breaker, but is definitely something the property should work on.

Fantastic stay, rooms were comfy, clean and waking to a view very the ocean each morning was wonderful. Rooms well equipped with fridge and a microwave down the hall so we could store & manage all the kids snacks. Perfect base for exploring locally. Only downside was the shower not being very powerful

We were in town for a wedding. Spacious room, nespresso machine for morning coffee or in our case afternoon coffee to stay awake all night. They called us a local taxi service to get us to the wedding and back. Lounge was lovely, great views. Highly recommend! We will come back in the summer with our kids. It’s right on the beach plus has 2 pools

We love the walkability with young kids and lots of entertainment and dining options in the area to keep everyone happy.

Great place for kids, beachcombe everyday and the rooms are nice and updated

Great location. We went with kids who wanted to be at the beach/park and it was quick and easy to get to our destinations. The front desk staff were so helpful and kind. Since we were travelling with our kids, we were looking forward to having a balcony to retreat to once the kids went to sleep. Our balcony was so loud it wasn’t ideal! We were on the parking lot side but over top of the building below so we just had to go listen to the air conditioners and fans below all evening. The ocean side would obviously be a much better option if you are hoping to use the balcony. Our only other complaint is the light on the balcony could not be turned off when it was time to sleep so there was bright light coming in the room around the curtains. We are dark room sleepers so that added some difficulty to our sleep. Overall we really enjoyed the area!
