G Mekong Hotel

Location and staff was generally good. Had a bit of an issue with check-in that delayed us for over an hour. I booked a junior suite room for our 1 night stop-over, the room was a not quite a suite type of room. We didnt feel comfortable in the room as it looked like the least maintained out of all the suite rooms.

My stay at G Mekong was pretty average. No one really came/ offered to help me with my bags upon arrival. Check-in was pretty efficient with a friendly receptionist but I was given a room with NO WINDOW. The images shown were only for 1 side of the hotel. This for me was false advertising. Furthermore, the facilities in my room were pretty shabby compared to my friend’s junior suite in the same hotel. The hairdryer holder was falling off the wall, the were sediments in the sink and the shower knob indicating hot/ cold was also installed the opposite way. These were not apparent in the my friend’s suite that looked more well maintained. It was details like that that let the hotel down. Redeeming qualities for the hotel were the kind staff, the beautiful reception and it was good value for money. I might stay there again with proper improvements made but I will definitely be asking for a room with windows.

The location is very bad the TV's are 30 years old so forget about watching Netflix, connecting your phone or anything else like that only Cambodian channels the help was ridiculously silly one after another I told them it can't be done I have been around the world twice and this was a junior suite were talking about I left after a hour and refund not a hope in hell it was one of the worst expieriences I've had and $97 usd what a joke

This was my second visit to this hotel. My colleague had faced some issues with the air conditioning in the room during our earlier visit in April 2022. It was a coincidence that the same room was assigned to me and the condition of the AC was no better. I was upgraded to a junior suite but again the AC was not functioning properly. I had booked for a full day transport for 5 pax and gave them a detailed itinerary, despite of giving them all the information they gave me a car which could only fit 3 people. This costed us our first meeting. Lastly, the breakfast is a disaster they earlier had a buffet but now post COVID they have very limited breakfast options. Hence, I would say they could improve on their services. The staffs are generally very courteous.
