Brisa Oceano Resort

Nice, with a great view of the ocean! Bertha was really sweet and helpful! The property was clean, but you can tell that the previous guests haven’t always taken pride in taking care of it, as there was obvious wear and tear…holes in some walls and some scrapes. Also, the couch needed to be spot cleaned really badly and our bedspread had some really bad stains in it, and could use a good bleaching. These are things that are easily fixable by management, and are things that as a paying customer, I will definitely write a review about. You can tell that at one point, this place used to be really really nice. Overall, my kids had a great time, which is all that really matters!

I do not recommend Brisa Oceano Resort in Placencia. Our room was listed on Expedia as 818 square feet. The room ended up being about 200 square feet. The property manager Juan said "you booked through a third-party website so we are not responsible for the square footage they list." Our bathroom had severe damage. The hair dryer was ripped off the wall, shelves from the shower were removed and never replaced, and the cabinet under the sink had severe water damage. It was filthy and unsafe because someone left a heavy piece of granite under the sink. I travelled with a toddler and the room was not safe for him to be in. Juan, the property manager, agreed to have his maintenance team repair the bathroom. But I was forced out of my room for 2 hours while they completed the repairs. My toddler needed to nap during this time and his entire day was disrupted due to the construction on my room. I do not recommend staying at Brisa Oceano Resort. We feel really misled from the listing. Brisa Oceano needs to take better care of their rooms and complete repairs before guests arrive. Make sure you sleep with ear plugs because you will hear your neighboring guests through the walls.

My husband and I stayed for a week. Would stay again. Pros - Great location walking distance to everything. Comfortable room well equipped. Peekaboo views of the sea. Strong AC and wifi. Staff was super helpful with reservations, recommendations, transportation, easily reachable via whatsapp anytime. Cons - no pool (which we knew about but it does seem a shame for such a quite place with lots of space) Only true con was the walls are a little thin and you can definitely hear loud neighbours. We had a screaming baby one night, people partying another night. Most of the time we were not there or the people were not that noisy. My husband and I are not light sleepers but it was defintely loud a couple of days / nights.
