Tingum Village is run by a truly magnificent and highly respected local woman named Juanita who's family has deep rooted connections to the island and is heavily involved in supporting the local community. It is not a super luxurious stay (so you should not expect it) but you are made to feel like you belong and the hotel has everything you need to have an enjoyable time (golf carts for rent, fun bar, nice restaurant with live music, and no frills rooms that are comfortable)

Juanita and the team treat you like family. Tingum Village is an island gem with clean updated rooms. They have an incredible restaurant too!

Harbour Island is an incredibly magical place and there are a lot of ways to experience it. You could stay in a super fancy resort on the beach, tie up your yacht in the marina, or AirBnb a tucked away house. Tingum Village is the place you go if you want to feel embedded in the island community- and it’s a beautiful, kind, generous and centered community. Ma Ruby is the hard working, problem solving, island historian and caring host. We will be back and we’ll stick to Tingum. There are fancier places, but this family owned hotel is priceless.

The owner, Juanita, is *awesome* - as is her entire staff! Really enjoyed our stay and getting to know some of her family history. We would certainly choose to stay here again on our next visit to Harbour Island.

Baby Ruby was absolutely amazing! She and everyone else there treated us like family and catered to all of our needs. We missed them as soon as we left but look forward to visiting again!

This was the best place to stay. Friendly, kind, genuine, family -run business. I had a family emergency, and Juanita helped in every way to make my shortened experience there the best experience. Most of all, she spent her time and solved my problem of getting home quickly to my family. Thank you, Juanita!

I’ve never met a more tentative and caring hotel owner than Juanita. AKA Baby Ruby! She runs a tight ship and she and her staff couldn’t be more kind. If she felt something wasn’t up to her liking or standard, she made sure it was taken care of. I loved my “Deluxe Standard” room. It definitely reflected the feel of a true Bahamian setting. By the time our visit was over, we felt like family and were talking plans for the future. Juanita definitely went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! There are a few friendly roosters on the property, so if you’re a light sleeper bring along some ear plugs. Highly recommend the Tingum Village Hotel.

If I could rate higher than excellent, I would. Juanita was incredible in every way. She was the perfect hostess and she and her staff treated our group of 9 people like family. If you are looking for an authentic Bahamian experience then you should book with Tingum Village. I know we will be back.

My mother, Deborah, and I just returned from our first visit to Harbor Island, where we were fortunate enough to stay at Tingum Village Hotel. Ms. Juanita could not have been kinder and went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The staff are all wonderfully kind, the food at Ma Ruby’s is excellent, the setting is beautiful, and the location is great, with easy walkability to the (gorgeous!!) beach and downtown areas. The homage paid to the late matriarch, Ma Ruby, is so touching, and the efforts to run this family-owned business are clearly a work of heart. We are so grateful to have found this gem in paradise and cannot wait to return!

Had a great, relaxing time here. Buildings are old, but clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water, cold air conditioning, comfortable bed, etc. Owner of the business was present every day and was extremely welcoming and did everything she could to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The whole place has a very warm "family" atmosphere to it. Would definitely stay here again. Might be the best option when it comes to affordable lodging on an otherwise fairly expensive island.
