Star Inn Hotel Wien Hauptbahnhof

It was a good experience overall. The room was modern and cosy at the same time. The bathroom contemporary that it didn't have a door, making it difficult for those sharing with kids or friends. Hotels should really look into this half glass door concept for shower as it is simply not practical as the water splashes out, making the whole bathroom wet. The shower had water clogged on the second day, which is a standard across all different hotels these days. Maybe hotels should supply the house keeping department with water draining liquid each time they come for housekeeping. Breakfast was rubbish for €16 per pax. Limited option for that price. Would have been better if we just ate in the cafe nearby. Other than that everything else was good including its close proximity to the hbf

Good place, overall. Rooms somewhat on the smaller side, but should be fine for two people without kids.

This hotel is part of the Choice Hotels chain. The best thing about this hotel is that is across the street from the Wien Hauptbahnhof (Vienna Main Train Station). From here you can access any part of the city via the underground system. Very convenient for our stay. Very little interaction with the staff, but for the most part very friendly. Check in is at 3pm. We showed up very early due to an overnight train from Venice. We were unable to check in early but was able to store our bags in a secure room. We were charged a city tax, which was expected, when we finally were able to check in. Advice is to make sure you get a receipt, because at check out they tried to charge us again. Apparently there was no record of payment. They let it go (6 euro) but could save some argument. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Unfortunately no pictures were taken of the rooms. The weird thing is that the shower is open and clear. There is no serperate place for the shower or sink. Much like a studio apt. Anyone could walk by and see you naked. Lucky I was with my wife. I wouldn't want to see any of my friends or family in that fashion. Probably would keep it to couples. The rooms are very quiet. There is a large breakfast here, but it is not free. We opted to go into town for food since we had to pay. Electronic key us required for elevator use and if arriving at hotel after 10pm or 11pm I believe. This hotel is pretty standard and good for the price. Nothing spectacular here.
