Reef View Hotel Hamilton Island.
We stayed here for one night in a coral view suite as a stopgap on a trip to the reef.
Most important conclusion is : if you travel with children it is the perfect hotel. As a couple….stay at Qualia 👍
The suite was very nice, spacious and with a great view from the 19th floor. The hotel has one pool and there are two other pools within 3 min walk. Beach is right in front and they have free kayaks, sailing catamarans , boards and snorkeling gear. One restaurant in the hotel and two others within 4 min walk.
The only drawback for us (traveling as a couple) was that the place was literally full with families. (School holiday too). At dinner (8pm) there was only one other table without children and at breakfast (7am) we were the only one. That resulted in dirty tables, food on the floor, parent allowing small children to pick up food with their hands at the buffet, shouting, crying, jumping in the clearly marked “no jumping pool”….etc.
The staff was great, trying to do what they could but they were just overwhelmed.
So….to reiterate. Perfect hotel for families. As a couple , or single travelers you cannot beat Qualia.

Nice family resort. All rooms face the beach, so great views. Excellent variety for breakfast. Best destination for a day trip to Whitehaven

Hamilton Island is wonderful. The resort was fine, a little dated but great staff. It would be really nice if one of the pools was a quiet pool or kid free pool as all of the pools were very busy, noisy and hard to find seating. Lots of kids having fun but just really busy. Food at hotel is good but expensive - however room service was very good. Staff was terrific! It’s a beautiful spot!

Fantastic. Room was huge, beautiful modern resort, friendly staff, nice restaurant and several pools on the island. Some Facilities such as kids club are across the road. Had no problems with Buggy parking or charging at the resort. The lifts probably need an update but otherwise couldn’t fault the hotel

Our stay at Reef View was fine, but I’d say it was just that. Fine. The area itself is relatively convenient (simply because the island is small and we had a buggy) but the hotel is tired. Everything is a bit dated and in a bit of a need of an upgrade. One of the four elevators broke down daily during our week stay, at one point three out of four were out, crockery and cups often had dried food or lipstick marks on them. Did the kids have a great holiday - yep. Would I rush back to Hamilton Island- probably not and if I did it would be in a self-contained apartment rather than a hotel.

Ocean view room had strong mold/mildew smell even with all doors open. So the staff moved us to Garden View room which was renovated and nice, but no view. They did not get a refund for the difference in price. Ocean view costs more. I requested partial refund from Expedia Australia but Expedia didn’t care and are lazy so they said no. I also had 2 guests, but was charged 3 guests. Both the hotel and Expedia didn’t care to refund me the difference…..very lazy people and unfair to me, got over charged, such fraudulent practice!!!! This hotel had a lot of children so it was very noisy and pool is too packed. Breakfast is too noisy and chaotic with very basic food, like a cafeteria. Better to eat breakfast in town than pay for hotel breakfast which has dirty water cups that everyone complained of. I would book a different hotel next time for more peace and better quality breakfast. Hotel is across the street from beach, it is not beachfront, whereas other hotels r beachfront. The free island bus comes to this hotel so that was nice. We rented buggy but you don’t need one cuz the shuttle takes you into town and hiking trails r all accessible by foot from hotel (buggy doesn’t take you much closer to trails). You can walk into town (the harbour where restaurants are) by foot. I did like the free stand up paddle boards and catamaran sail boats, that is a nice hotel perk!! This hotel is dated with a lot of noticeable black mold on the balcony walls. Hotel needs full renovation.

The Hotel was being renovated during our stay. We were in a renovated room. The room was large, clean with a big balcony. The restaurant by the pool was fantastic, food delicious, staff very accommodating and friendly. The hotel seemed very popular with families and small children. Good location and free bus services run regularly so does the Airport Shuttle bus.
