Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunshine Coast, an IHG Hotel

Great small room for 4 people. 3 adults and 1 child. Great heated pool and surroundings. Good location close to shops and eateries. Have to pay for parking. Some pillows were not washed well. They were smelly which made using them not an option. I didn't tell reception as it was late when we noticed and it was just for 1 night.

We needed an overnight place to stay. Room was comfortable with 2 x Queen beds. We have a teenage daughter so she wasn't too happy about the frosted wall/glass shower set up and we had to leave the room when she took a shower so that was probably a bit disappointing - it looked nice but practically if you have 2 different people who were not related sharing the room this would not be favourable. The beds were a little bit uncomfortable for my husband who has health issues - for me it was okay, the only thing I would say is it would be good to have the charging ports on both sides of the bed. The breakfast was nice and we were happy this was included in the price. The facilities such as the pool and gym looked good, unfortunately I forgot my togs! We used the laundry but the only thing I would say about this is it took $2 coins but I wonder whether there needed to be an alternative way to pay for the machines as I had little to no cash on me and when I went to reception I could not get a $2 coin even if I bought something. The one thing was that we didn't realise that there was little to no parking available onsite, we had to resort to parking on the street luckily for us we were able to park nearby but if you were a family and had 1 or 2 small children this could be a problem. Not sure if you were able to pay for parking or not or if the onsite parking was first in first served. On the plus side it was quick and relatively easy to get to Sunshine coast motorway.

We spent an amazing two weeks here, the staff were wonderful, especially Tony who made sure our room was done every day after a mix up when we first arrived. The wonderful reception staff who helped me with my washing because of my disability and went above and beyond to make sure it was done. Very family friendly, clean, easy to access and great location as it’s close to everywhere.
