Blue Lagoon Resort

We love staying here, every time we come up to cairns.l to visit family it is our go to spot! Staff are lovely and facilities are nice

The Blue Lagoon was amazing. Our unit was modern and had all the appliances you would need for an extended stay. Cleanliness was great. Beds were super comfy. Air cons in every room. Receptionist (apologies, I forgot her name) was super helpfuland friendly. Not much to fault about this place. Stayed here with family (older teenage kids) and they loved it too.

Beautiful spot, close to the beach and plenty of restaurants. Had amazing views over the lagoon. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything our family needed.

It was perfectly fine if you just want a rest stop in between all of your other activities. One of our towels had a hole in it, and these were obviously not replaced at any point during the 4 day stay. There was no toothpaste, just a shampoo/conditioner combination product (?) and a moisturiser. Same goes for the kitchen- very average in terms of what was included. Instant coffee tea was available, but no salt or pepper, and no oil. The one pan is absolutely tiny, and one very average pot - this very much limits you in terms of what you can cook and how much. The knives were all blunt, which in combination with everything else made cooking a frustrating experience. It's perfectly fine, and the main pool has a very nice view. It's definitely not as big as the photo makes it seem and with just a few families it's way too packed. There is another pool but it's in such a shaded area, that it's very dark and definitely not as pleasant to swim in so we didn't bother.

Well the hotel offered wifi, it was a requirement for me due to work. I got there and the wifi was so bad I couldn’t even load up my internet banking, let alone use it for work purposes. I got 0.2MBits per second download. (You read that correct). Not only that, it is a dead Cell phone signal area. The lady at front desk was so rude and arrogant when I politely asked if there was a room I could use that had better wifi signal. She just said “it’s wifi isn’t it, I don’t have to say how good or bad it is, but it’s still wifi like listed”. She claimed there was no signal in the area and to suck it up. Worst experience I’ve ever had at any accommodation in my life. Lucky Hotels.com were understanding and I was able to get a refund for my remaining nights there. Not only would I never stay there again, I would go out of my way to recommend to all friends and family that it is ran by a modern day bigot and outright rude individual. When checking out she muttered a derogatory word which I won’t repeat here. 0/10 service.

Lovely apartment overlooking the lagoon. The pool was great for the kids, we have a 3 and 13 year old both loved the pool. A short walk to the beach and good restaurants. August was a great time to go, we had fantastic weather. An easy drive to all the attractions.
