The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach

After going through the cyclone that hit our area and out of power for over seven days, it was amazing to take a night away with our family just to relax, use the pool and unwind after such a stressful situation. The staff were incredible and it’s just such a beautiful spot. I Would highly recommend any family or couple wanting to get away to go there.

1. PowerPoint behind pillows on the bed is extremely dangerous. I was sleeping in this bed with my young child and did not notice this until this morning!! 2. The doona has stains on it. I’m hoping the yellow patch is not urine 3. There is no rubbish chute in the hotel. As a result the rubbish built up in the room and we ended up with flies everywhere 4. Basement smelt like there was a dead body in there. When we arrived the odour was foul and overwhelming. I was dry retching. The basement was also very cluttered and messy 5. Only one lift. No internal staircase. This created a major issue for us when going to the pool. Friday night the rooftop bar was open and we had to cram in the lift with the kids and other people going out for a drink. On the way back to our room we were getting dirty looks from people about wet kids and pool toys in the lift. Given the price of a room for the night is the same as other hotels with more utilities, facilities we are extremely disappointed and feel it is not worth the price.
