The staff were excellent and we couldn’t recommend them any more. The staff did everything they could to ensure we had the best possible stay. The facilities great albeit dated and a little unkept. We had some stains on our curtains that looked like food. It certainly isn’t a luxury stay but it’s comfortable and the price for the rooms are reasonable. The prices in the bar/ restaurant are crazy but if you pay for breakfast included it’s worthwhile. Our biggest issue was the lack of ramps - they are a lot of stairs that we weren’t prepared for. It’s not really a family hotel with little to do at the property for younger kids but the views are beautiful!

We had a lovely stay but felt we couldn’t utilize the pool as often as we planned as there was no shade provided. Also the restaurant deck was rotten (nearly completely through in one place) and lots of sharp rust in places on balcony rails. Outdoor couches were pretty old and tired. Breakfast was lovely with lots on offer and they were very patient with our kids questions about all the food. The rooms were lovely though air con only just coped and didn’t reduce the temp in the room much but did improve the humidity. The balcony view from our room was lovely and the kids loved the bush turkey that made two nests while we were there!

Drinks on the restaurant deck, beautiful views and peaceful surrounds. Lovely night there with my family.

A family stay, the room was lovely, meals were 5 star. Service in restaurant was a bit sad, considering there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, just forgetting things. Serving adult meals before children. But on a whole excellent, would return.

The hotel room was okay but as usual suffered the whole hot/cold air-con overnight which is exacerbated by the hideous sheet/doona combos all hotels insist on using so we were constantly throwing them off and back on. The pillows seem comfortable at first but squish to nothing very quickly. The worst part of the room was probably the shower which had almost non-existent water pressure. We also had only 2 water and wine glasses/tea cups even though booking was for 3 adults and 1 child (and one of the glasses looked dirty). The walk from hotel room to main part of hotel was dicey as it was very slippery in the wet under the not quite covered path. All of the staff at Mercure were lovely and happy but we were a bit disappointed in the restaurant staff at dinner. We ordered steaks which didn't have any sides listed with them on the menu (every other item did) so we ordered sides of veges and mashed potato only to find the steaks came with them (would have been nice for them to advise us of this as we wasted much of it). We can't be sure but when we ordered the entree of garlic prawns they asked if we wanted it to come out with the mains, we said yes but it looked quite large. When we paid the bill they had charged us for 2 of them. We advised we only ordered one and they took it off without argument but we did wonder if they doubled it to be a mains size even though we didn't ask for it to be. Overall was okay but could use some improvement.
