Paid for 3 people and went to room found the sofa bed not made up. Had to call house keeping and all they have is were 2 sheets and one extra towel. No pillows or blanket and it was a really cold night ! Had to give the kids my blanket from my bed so I went with just a sheet which is not ok as I paid quite a bit extra for 3 in the room but no extra services !

My husband and I celebrated my birthday with two other couples of friends who happened to be staying the same night. We had 4 nights in total and travelled by car around Northern NSW area with Mantra being close to everything. Outdoor table could be bigger with 4 chairs rather than 2 for guests. No tall glasses and no platter or bowl for pasta or charcuterie type grazing on balcony. Screens on ground floor units especially could be huge bonus. Shower had ridiculously small door and hand held shower would be better. In fact do away with spa bath and make shower bigger would bring it up to date. Whole resort and unit was exceptionally well maintained and clean considering its age. Gardens and grounds are pristine and I would definitely recommend overlooking gardens rather than pool. Very relaxing outlook. Pool is wonderful, however pool surrounds are very sharp on feet. Walk-in entry is marvellous for all ages and abilities. Reception staff were not very helpful when we wanted to know about public transport up to Tweed Heads. Don’t rely on taxis either they don’t turn up when booked. Go with Uber half the price and super reliable. We will definitely stay there again and probably take our adult family and grand-daughter and friends as well.

Our stay was nice, however the room was not ready until 3.30pm and we had come in to see if we could check in early at 1.30pm. They alsp placed us in the room at the very end of the hotel and with a young baby and pram it was very difficult to unpack and organise ourselves. While i would stay here again the service definitely needs improvement.

The Mantra is a great resort for families and the location and pool are stand outs. The grounds are also great - the only downside is the rooms. They are ok but in need of renovations and a 3star condition.

We just checked out of the mantra on salt beach today and to say we were disappointed with our stay is an understatement. The day we checked in the reception staff were unpleasant and it seemed as if we were bothering them. We then proceeded to order food by the pool through the online ordering system which stated $22 for calamari with chips, wait staff brought the food out only to be advised it did not come with chips. I enquired about this with the bar and was advised “it was a typo” now $22 for about 6 pieces of calamari is a complete joke. We had issues with our internet and was not advised how to connect to the wifi so I tried calling reception from the in room phone but alas the in room phone did not work. We also ordered food from the fish and chip shop which was in the village that connected to the resort and the service was also extremely underwhelming. We paid $160 to eat dinner at the bistro and once again disappointed with the service. I’m overall very disappointed with our stay as this was my partner and I’s first family holiday with our little one. I will not be staying here again or recommending this resort.

Convenient, everything is right at the resort no need to go anywhere. Great pool for the kids. The rooms are a little out dated and need some attention and the bedlinen needs updating.
