Novotel Newcastle Beach

Staff were lovely. Shower and bathroom sink were dirty. Baby cot left in the room, not something you want to see when your having a child free night away!!

We got put in Room 328. After booking a month in advance, booking a Superior King Suite and requesting an Ocean view. Well the view we got of the ocean was not as good as the view the Carpark and Office Building straight across from our balcony got of our room! I woke up early and went out onto the balcony to have a look at the sunrise over the Ocean (I'm from WA so this is a treat) only to find a young man sitting in the office below looking up and perish to think of the view the poor kid got! I hope he isn't psychologically scarred! We asked if we could move but we were told there were no other rooms. Later that afternoon we were resting and another couple came into our room. Lovely! They'd been given our room. I rang down to the desk and they said we had been checked out! Well I paid for three nights so I'd prefer to stay for three nights thanks. Oh no problems, would you like another room we can upgrade you no problems! WHAT? Nah by this point I was over it. Let the carparkers and office staff look in at their own peril! We went out on the town and got on the turps and didn't get back to the room till about 1.30am wanting to crash! No luck. The room card wouldn't swipe! Had to wait 40 mins for the battery to be changed in the door thingamajig. No apologies, no discounts. Too Bad To Sad. The only highlight was a lovely staff member named Ashi. She was very conciliatory and genuinely kind. Thank you Ashi for your care!
