GK Central Hotel

Property is above average for hotels of this class in Q1. Location is good. However, be warned that if you like to sleep in till late, this is probably NOT a good location. There's a school next door which would start their day with plenty of "song n dance" over the PA at around 8 - 9.30am so that's a bummer if u are trying to sleep late. Even without the PA, u would hear the buzzing noise from the kids ( just not as loud ). Bearable, but not preferred.

The property is NOTHING like the photos, very dirty, tired and unpleasant. Service terrible/non-existent. Hot water system clunky, from stone cold to boiling with little ability to adjust for comfort. Had to ask for room clean, and they used the lift to move smelly rubbish leaving stinking residue in it and only cleaned it when I brought it to their attention. Embarrassingly, my wife also invited family to stay with us, they were not happy. This hotel should not be offered on Expedia until it has addressed all the issues. You should go and take a look for yourselves. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at bar none.

All the staff from front desk, housekeeping, to waiters/waitresses are very friendly and accommodating. They were not only nice to us, but to all guests. Many staff are fluent in English. The only shortcoming in our view is this hotel is lacking a way for elderly and disabled ones to check in without difficulty. All people have to go up several steep steps to enter the hotel. Staff are always around to help you go up the stairs and carry your luggage. It’s a family friendly hotel with hot breakfast without breaking one’s budget.

My family and I have stayed at this hotel multiple times recently and before the pandemic. We love the hotel, especially the very friendly, responsive, and supportive staffs,. Hotel is very well and conveniently located. The price is seasonal. We do have a small wish thar the daily breakfast included with the room would provide a little more choices and varieties:) Also it didnt bother us too badly. But the near clubs and bars canbeabit noisy until pretty late. The sounds are definitely noticeable. We will definitely stay at GK Central again, thenexttime we visit Saigon:)

I stayed at GK Central Hotel for 2 nights in HCMC, and I can recommend to stay here, if you need an ok, cheap place to stay with a perfect location for getting around in central HCMC/Saigon. The room was comfortable and clean, however quite small (and much smaller than the impressions from the photos), and the window faced a court yard to a school, so there was a lot of noise from the school children in the daytime (but we were hardly there, but out and exploring the city, so didn't matter). The breakfast was a bit so-so, and the breakfast room very crowded, we had troubles finding a place to sit on the second day. However, I must give credit to the staff at the hotel who were all very friendly, helpful and welcoming, so this was a huge plus for us.
