The Osthoff Resort

The Osthoff is an amazing getaway from the city. Located on Elkhart Lake an hour outside of Milwaukee the resort is perfect for family trips or business events.

Gorgeous place. Nice pool hot tub and kids arcade. Executive suite is a must.

Wonder filled stay for a family reunion. The water activities were the highlight for our children and grandchildren. We enjoyed the evening live entertainment and abundant group sitting areas. Thank you.

This is the 8th year we've held our family Christmas gathering at Osthoff. Accomodations and nearby activities are always great.

I've stayed at The Osthoff Resort now 3 different times as my company often reserves rooms for corporate events. The stay last night was a night getaway we were attending an event in Elkhart Lake. I've talked to him about how beautiful the property was so he was really looking forward to time away from work, our children and pets. Upon check in, the woman at the front desk told us we could not check in until 4pm. So we waited until that time because we were in Elkhart Lake for an event that started closer to 5pm. The website also indicates 4pm so we thought we'd have time to freshen up in our room a bit. When we approached the desk at 4pm we were told we were not able to check in until closer to 5pm.There was no mention of, "I'm sorry the room isn't ready", or any other further discussion. It was just point-blank poor customer service. At check out, I informed the same woman at the front desk how uncomfortable our night was because of the heating element. She stated that we should of not used the wall dial, that we should of used the a/c attached to the wall. How would we know to do that? There is no signage or any heads up at check in that that would be a problem. I indicated to her that we only saw the wall dial, and that we did not recall having another mechanism to change the a/c. It was 78 degrees in our room and even with the "heat" off and a/c on it didn't change. She didn't apologize or even mention the manager to follow up. Customer service is lacking.

Elkhart Lake is a great area to stay. This property is very convenient. We asked for a pack in play- they must not have very many guests with babies who fly in as they did not have one. They had a old crib that took them hours to deliver. I didn't eat onsite so I cannot comment about the food but the room we had was a two bedroom suit which had lots of space for us and parking was easy. This is a very walkable location. Overall this was a lovely place to stay and we would stay again.

A beautiful place, but getting run down due to lack of staff. The hotel is in desperate need of a good pressure washing outside. Our porch was covered with dead bugs. We could only get house keeping for our 4 day stay upon request and that was only to get clean towns and take out the trash. The staff were pleasant. The lake and hotel are beautiful, but heading for trouble if they don’t more staff to take care of the place. A great place for families.

Really enjoyed our stay. The weather was amazing. The resort was packed. They are trying their best to get the rooms turned over but felt bad for housekeeping bc they were extremely backed up. The room was nice, could use a bit of updating. Our toddler loved the whirlpool bathtub. The pools were nice enough, definitely worth checking out. We absolutely loved the private beach access. Though it was crowded, it was still clean and nice. The restaurant on site was pretty good too. Really nice stay for a family with younger children. Would definitely come back and would also recommend to family and friends.
