Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites York NE - Market, an IHG Hotel

This hotel was awesome!!! Quick check-in and the staff was so friendly! The pool area was clean and our family had a great time. Breakfast was delicious and there were so many options. The checkout was quick and again the staff was friendly!

There is lots of built up dirt on the vents. There’s dirt on the corner of the bathroom floor and lint on the beds. There’s grease finger stains on the furniture like it was never wiped down from the previous stay. There is 1 tiny garbage can in the room but we are a family of 4 staying for a weekend.

1. I didn't like the fact that we were not informed the indoor pool was closed. The indoor pool was a primary factor for us in choosing the property. We booked the room nonrefundable but were only sent a notification of the pool being closed after we booked. I consider that misrepresentation at some level. 2, we booked the twin queen suite with the extra space since we had 2 adults and 3 kids. When we arrived we were given a twin queen handicapped room and told nothing else was available, once again, misrepresentation. 3. There was a loud party going on and the desk clerk said it would be over by 10. It ended around 11 pm. 4. The room wasn't in good shape, torn carpet, a burned out bulb, what appeared to be blood stains or something very similar, on the bathroom wall. If we hadn't been so tired from travelling I would have left and gone elsewhere from any ONE of these things. We are very unhappy and my wife refuses to stay at Holiday Inns in the future.

Clean place, nice staff, my kids have fun in the pool, great breakfast.

Well the real disappointment for this hotel was that we were supposed to check in after 3 pm to our room but when we arrived it was around 6pm and our room still wasn't ready due to low staff. We waited for like 30 minutes more to get into our room. The pool was open but needed to filtered for cleaning and my family was upset the hot tub was closed off for maintenance.

There were unsupervised kids running up and down the hallway until way after midnight. One of them ran into our door and made such a loud bang that the security lock swung open. The room had an odor. Air conditioner didn’t work properly. The remote control didn’t work even after they gave us new batteries. The maid didn’t replace our towels so we were stuck with one towel. When we asked for towels on Saturday night around 11pm they said they were in the dryer and come back later. They also said there’s a lot of people staying here. It was late and we were tired. They should have brought them to us.

The property window curtains doesn’t close so we couldn’t sleep long in the morning. Staff offered to move to different room but it was already my kids were sleeping. No bath towels were placed and realized while in shower. Bath Soap dispenser was not working well. Only warm water but no hot water

So as a family we were looking at York Pa as a place to move too. My wife and I came up for a 2 night stay and have only have great experiences with Holiday Inn Expresses. I will say I was worried a bit after seeing some reviews that were more recent but stuck it out. The staff was amazingly friendly, sadly the pool was down but that’s okay, and I am a bit of a stickler on a few things but it’s mid day, I would run a vacuum a bit more and shine the metal up from hand prints but that’s just being nit picky. The king size bed room was clean and awesome. Very comfortable and warm or cold, another words climate control was great. Very hot water in the shower, maybe tighten up the handle a bit. Very nice dove soap amenities. Tv, fridge microwave and kureig. Again the staff was wonderful the experience was great and nicely located in reach of so many places. Highly highly recommended.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Filthy property - dirt and trash all over the floor. The edge and corners of all rooms, hallways and elevators are lined with dirt. First room we were assigned was like walking through the gates of hell - thermostat was reading 99 degrees - immediately told the front desk worker who told me “it will cool off - it’s cold outside”. Forced her to come up and see for herself how hot it was and unacceptable to have my children in for even a moment. Second room had no towels, tissues and dirt in all the corners. Then to round out our already wonderful experience the fire alarm was trigger in the morning (probably from another thermostat raging out of control) which left us evacuated from our room with two small children in the freezing cold morning. Then once finally getting back into our room an hour later, we had NO WATER access and had to all quickly get ready and go to a funeral with no shower, flushable toilet or sink to brush our teeth and get ready. TRASH TRASH TRASH.

My room was a blast furnace for most of the night. We had to turn the AC on and set it down low to get relief. My daughter who Was also staying at this hotel experienced the same problem in her room with her family.
