River Lodge And Grill

We stayed during memorial weekend, our room was outdated compared to others but it was ok. Beds weren’t very comfortable either but they did the job. They did have games for outside which was convenient and fun for the kids. Their inside board games they advertise for you could use some updating. They only had 3 games and they were nothing the kids could play. Restaurant was good but closes at 8pm along with the bar so no evening drinks. Overall it was very quiet and relaxing just could use a little updating and would stay again.

We had such a wonderful stay at the River Lodge. Our kids enjoyed it so much, they ask us how soon we can travel the three hours back to stay there again.

Hotel is in a prime location. On the river, near a state park with a marina and boat ramp, swimming and picnicking. Play ground for the kids and adults!

Very family friendly although we were traveling as a couple. Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Nice to sit outside and look at the water.

Great hotel on the river. The room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the windows had too many panes and screens to enjoy the river view. I believe the second floor room would have a better view than the ground floor one we got. The pool Was small but great fro splashing with the kids after a long drive.

Nice quiet stay that accommodated our small dog and kid very easy and COVID safe. The staff was absolutely wonderful, everyone from the front desk to the grill to all the employees we encountered during our 2 day stay. Very friendly and professional.

Staff was polite at checkin. Room was not clean. There was half a candy bar on the floor when we walked in, tissues under the cabinet under the sink that were obviously used, what looked to be like bloodstain on the second bed that we didn’t end up using - my boys stayed at family’s house because they didn’t want to sleep on it, and two separate beetles in our towels. Usually this is out go to place when visiting family in the area- but we may reconsider next visit .

We liked almost everything about this place, but the hot-tub was out of order and the toilet in the bathroom was designed for a small child. Also, this location is close to an industrial area so there is a strong odor in the air. Check-in was difficult because we wanted to upgrade the room, but Hotels.com was impossible to reach until the last good room was taken.

While the view was gorgeous and the cabin was a comfortable size for a family of 3, there were a few disappointments. First- it is extremely hot in the cabin bedrooms. There is one minisplit AC unit in the middle of the cabin, but the only way to cool the bedrooms is to leave the doors open while sleeping. Second- it was not clean. The floors were uncomfortable to walk on without shoes, due to the amount of dirt and sand- it does not appear that they sweep between guests... there was also hair in the sink and shower. All in all we would try again- a different cabin or the lodge.

Love staying at this hotel.....great accommodations on the river. When we don’t stay overnight, we always stop for a meal in their restaurant on the way to visit family.
