I called before arriving to ask about fires in the area after I saw a closure posted on Google maps but couldn't find any information about it online. The person who took my call was so rude that I really wanted to cancel my reservation at that point, but it was too late to request a refund. Things were no better in person. The main lodge staff was overworked and on edge. Never a smile, a thank you, or any other friendly gesture at any point. The food menu looked great, but since they had only one kitchen worker who was therefore unable to keep up with orders, only burgers and fries were available for the entire evening (not just for late dining). However, I was able to purchase microwavable frozen food from their convenience store-- and the worker there was the only kind, helpful person I found on the premises. The bed was comfortable. Cabin was very clean and well appointed, but noisy . . . it turned out not to be a stand-alone unit, and the shared walls were thin. Cars and motorcycles periodically drove past just a few feet outside the room door. I had seen on the website that wifi was limited, but there was actually none at all, even in the main lodge building. Kind of a bummer because I wanted to let my family know that I had made it there. It was an absolutely beautiful area, but I would probably not choose to stay here again. (If you do, though, just an FYI: the lodge has chosen to use Mountain Time even though are in the Pacific Time zone.)

Absolutely the worst service of my entire life. Rude staff, understaffed. Waited 30 minutes to check in. No internet even though we called to confirm there was internet. The restaurant had overpriced food that was barley edible. Waited at table for 57 minutes before order taken. Overall a terrible, run down place with bitter, overworked and nasty staff. Fortunately we stayed here only because we were passing through, and had no expectations. But I feel terrible for anyone who was coming here last on a family vacation or getaway, it would be such a disappointment. The room was clean and beds comfortable. But the shower curtain fell when I opened it and hit my son in the face, giving him a black eye.

There’s no wifi or tv. It’s simple and quaint. Surrounded by gorgeous wildlife. Staff are super helpful, good humored, and knowledgeable. It was a great stay for my family of six. Can’t wait to visit again.
