Sleep Inn & Suites

We have stayed here several times when visiting family in the area. The staff has always been friendly, and we enjoy the complimentary breakfast. The indoor pool is also very nice when traveling with a family.

Staff was friendly, room was big and clean, nice pool, breakfast options for everyone. Short but nice visit for this family of 6.

I am from Charles City but a few years ago moved my family away due to husbands work. We come back occasionally to visit friends and this is always the place we stay. I have never had a complaint, this hotel has always been nice but after the two days I just spent there with my daughter I don’t know if I can ever go back. As we started unpacking in the room, we noticed that there were several gnats flying around but we had checked in late and decided that we would wait until morning to talk to a manager about switching rooms. About 8 AM I was awoken by a bite on the back of my hairline, half asleep I was not sure what it was, I ended up putting it in a Ziploc bag figuring it might be a Wood tick. The lady at the front desk was not alarmed at all, she said “oh, that’s just a wood tick“. She says that they are common in Iowa especially in wooded areas, I explain to her that we had been in the car all day on an interstate and if it had attached to me the day before I would’ve noticed it before I went to bed. She got us a different room, on the way down the hallway the maid approached us and said “just let me know if you need anything, I haven’t had a chance to check your new room“ so as we were going to our old room to grab our stuff she hurried into the new room and began to clean it, so we were given a new room that hadn’t even been cleaned, then the next morning at checkout the manager says “I sure hope that the ticket didn’t come from our hotel, the Gnats have been a problem

Was a great find! Everything was clean and in good shape. Pool was open. Included breakfast was eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereals, etc. Had a great time with my kids!

We enjoyed the pool with our four grandkids. Then had pizza together in the breakfast area. The front desk was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

Not great. When getting breakfast I was yelled at because I couldn’t find something, overheard them complaining about someone calling in, lots of cursing the whole dining room could hear. Sandy at check in was very rude and short with almost every family checking in for the wedding. No cleaning services unless you request them by 7 am that day. However one of the ladies graciously offered to clean the bridal suite so they could come in to a tidy room - and it was very clean for them. Breakfast was pretty good as far as options and flavor if they could have just refilled more often. Many of our keys stopped working both days and we had to have them reset. Gas station within walking distance was a plus since the vending machine was broken. Kids had fun swimming in the pool. No hot tub though. Most of the family were given different amounts for what their rooms cost, they didn’t put people in the wedding block and the ones that did were told a higher amount than those of us that didn’t use it. Overall it was only okay, not where I would choose to stay again.
