Comfort Suites Gainesville near University

Well we came from 60miles away too thinking our room was like I paid for and it wasn’t. I get there the clerk tell another family the a/c is out in the rooms not the lobby or the hallways an I was like ok did I hear that right? So when it got to me she welcomed me I signed an then after she gives me my room keys she goes” oh I forgot too inform you that there is no a/c in the rooms….lol I just couldn’t be mad because we had no power at the house so I just stayed up all night with the room door open so everyone could get some air at least. But room 104 we can’t complain it was better than staying in the dark with four kids and just went grocery shopping an can’t cook. But having the door open maybe wasn’t safe but we well they slept ok after it cooled down.

I traveled to the area to take a friend to Shands for surgery. The hotel is close to the hospital. I did not get to use the outside pool but the kids I heard seemed to enjoy it.

I would suggest this hotel to friends and family. Service was good. Room was very nice. Especially liked the large shower.

We had in amazing 3 days it was a family trip . Room very clean worker are so sweet & kind , breakfast it good too , quiet we was on the 4 floor we had a suite & 2 Queens beds the room was big bathroom amazing as Will it nice to chill outside as Will the pool is great as well . I recommend this is the one we are coming back soon as well .

My family and I had 3 rooms booked. When we arrived around 7 pm, they notified us that all rooms were ready. However, we found that one room had a blood stain (or another brownish redish substance) on the carpet in between the two beds, another room had the sheets turned down, and even the one that was most decent had a red chewed up straw laying on the carpet. We were given 2 new rooms (we stayed with the room with the straw as it was in the best condition of the 3). The rest of my family arrived at midnight, of the 2 rooms we were reassigned to, one was fine and the other had the sheets turned down, an empty coke bottle on the desk, and a cup of water in the bathroom, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. At midnight we then had to wait to be given yet ANOTHER room. The staff was kind but really we were offered not additional compensation for this setback. It took a very long time to get us a new room as the front desk system was rebooting apparently. Although the staff was kind, I do not think that they are properly trained in accommodating guests for inconveniences.

I stayed here a few weeks ago for my kid’s dorm move-in and was impressed with the comfy bed, spacious room and location close to campus. I chose it again this week. However, even though it appears and feels very clean, This time, I encountered several live cockroaches in the bathroom and one crawling on the wall of the bedroom. Just probably need to do a treatment of bug spray. I did mention it when I checked out. I would still give it another chance for the other positives.

Our stay was great! Close to our family and east to get to. The front desk was great and was easy to talked to. They were engaged with me when checking in. The room was great. Clean and big. The only thing was the smoke/fire alarm was over the bed. We had a storm that night so I was thinking it was lightning but it’s was the detector was blinking. It wasn’t going off for a problem but was working. Over all I will be back to this place and recommend it. Great Job front desk and breakfast worker!

The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. It’s very quiet at night and their beds are so comfortable…I have slept so good there! If a family member is in the hospital at the VA or Shands this is a perfect location. The only thing I wasn’t happy about is the breakfast, I have had much better at other hotels. Other than that it is a wonderful place to stay.

This hotel was perfect for a family trip to Gainesville for homecoming weekend. The hotel was super clean and new, the beds were ridiculously comfortable, the rooms were huge and the location was great. It’s located on 13th street just south of archer. They provide a shuttle to campus for the game every 30 minutes, which we didn’t get to use because of availability. Uber to campus was only 10 minutes. The only downside was the availability of water for filling up bottles, and the continental breakfast could use some more healthy options. Maybe hard boiled eggs and granola would be good additions. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend this place and we’d stay here again without hesitation!
