We couldn’t even check in our experience was so bad. Location felt unsafe from the beginning. We waited for valley for 15 minutes I went in and was told to go out and someone should be there. The lobby looked dingy and smelled. Even so I sat in my care with my young kids and senior parents about 15 minutes and we decided to just leave. It was awful.

I liked the hotel and will stay again. I wouldn’t bring a family w kids, but for a budget friendly option within a close taxi to Moscone it works. It is quite dated, but all of the fixtures and accommodations are very clean and tidy. The bed was very, very comfortable and slept great aside from the city noise that you get outside. I felt like I was stepping back into the 1970s or 80s which I kind of enjoyed. The TV is low, resolution and old tech, but who cares? But like I said, everything was well-maintained and enjoyable overall.

I knew this before booking. The location is in the outskirts or next neighborhood of Tenderloin. There is no doubts of safety, this was in a safe place and safe neighborhood. It had what I needed, 3 queen beds for a family of 4. The price was VERY reasonable. The building was gorgeous. The staff was pleasant. The morning breakfast and the afternoon tea was OH SO NICE! The hotel was clean, and beds were comfy! So, we had safety, cleanliness, nice staff, comfort, space. What else do you need? Sleep. Its very noisy at night. This is NO fault of the hotel. The firetrucks run seemingly all night, the people shouting walking in the streets, the dogs barking and fighting all lead to rougher sleeps. This hotel anywhere else would be $1,000 a night. I still recommend this hotel, with the great staff, good service and nice building. I got what I paid for.

I liked the vintage style.. We booked the family suite for 4 and we were impressed. Our room was spacious. It was actually a small one bedroom apartment with three queen-size beds, living room, dining area and full kitchen with all cooking sets, full size fridge, microwave, stove and traditional oven. The bathroom was huge with two sinks, bidet and a large bath tub. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Apart from the street noise, I would have stayed in the room the whole day.

This hotel is very old. If you’re looking for a upscale hotel I wouldn’t stay here. Location is convenient to walk to union square and Chinatown but there are a lot of homeless people around the hotel which made us feel unsafe with a child. On a positive note, the staff was great and upgraded our room for no reason.

We loved the classic SF feel of this property, the free wine and cheese in the afternoons and pastries in the morning. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were surprised by the $57 per night parking and 30 minute wait for our car when we wanted to use it. We were dissapointed by the very poor wifi on the 7th floor and we couldn't sign into our Firestick. The TV was not a "smart tv" and there was no guide, just a chanel list. Not a big deal if you don't have kids wanting to watch a show before bed. The wi-fi really needs to be upgraded. We would maybe stay again.

The only positive to the stay here was the exception they made to allow us to check in early. After driving all night to reach our destination, I was extremely grateful that they allowed us to check in so I could rest. We got into our room and the first things the kids noticed was a red stain on the comforter. We did away with the comforter as to avoid unnecessary arguments since they let us check in early. Everything went downhill from there, the service at the front desk was terrible. For a hotel that didnt have any people waiting to speak to the front desk, the turn time per customer was horrible. I called for my vehicle, to which I was told it would take 30 min due to the holiday, and that they would give me a call when it was ready. After 15 min we went downstairs to wait and the car never arrived. 45 minutes later I spoke with the front desk and they stated the vehicle was brought up but we where never informed. Monday was our checkout date, we decided to leave sunday night because we didnt want to deal with the slow turn times. I waited in line for 30 minutes while the front desk and a man argued about his booking. Finally, I asked if I could just drop the keys and leave, to which I was told I had to wait and be processed. I was charged 45$ per night for parking, and an additional hold was placed on the card for God knows what. Im still waiting on my bank to see if that transaction goes through, needless to say I will not be returning to this establishment.
