Becks Motor Lodge

We have stayed at Beck's many times as it is just around the corner from family who don't have enough room for us to stay with them. Very convenient.

My new favorite place! Location is amazing, my room had everything I needed. It felt safe, happy and clean. This is owned a run by a 3rd generation Beck (I found out) and is a mid-century classic. Rooms have been updated and have all the amenities you need: coffee maker, iron, frig, hair dryer. There is a Zip car station right there if you don't want to bring a car. Caveats, this is a family run hotel that was built in the 50's in a much different city. If you want a modern era building, this isn't for you. Market Street is loud so if you are noise sensitive, plan accordingly.The owners of Beck's are clearly trying to preserve something wonderful and if travelers support them, then maybe it will still be there for the next generation. In the meantime, enjoy your perch and the ability to walk to awesome restaurants, parks, the Castro, Safeway and even park your car right in front of your room.

I always enjoy my stay at the Becks. My biggest concern was the noise. As much as love children, having the run up and down the balcony was quite annoying causing unwanted noise early in the mornings and during my stay. If they are going to be a family friendly hotel, there needs
