The Wynnstay is a lovely hotel in Machynlleth and was the perfect base for us to see family. We have stayed in a few hotels in the area and this was definitely one of the better ones. We know the area well and it was nice to be able to stay close to family. We had an issue whilst we were staying in that the bed was incredibly squeaky, we spoke to a lady in reception in the morning who was very helpful and moved us to a new room which we were grateful for. Both rooms were very nice, quite traditional, large and had good sized bathrooms. Breakfast was traditional and was clearly enjoyed by most people there. It would have been nice to have a bit more of an option for vegetarians especially though and there were no baked beans which is normally a staple of a British breakfast.
