A beautiful place to stay, the village room was lovely with buggy or minibus transfers to any other part of the village, dinner at the castle was excellent (10 min walk from the village uphill if you fancy the walk) and then breakfast at the hotel was amazing just a few minutes walk downhill from the village overlooking the estuary. Not a huge amount to do in the village on a cold and rainy day but would definitely recommend for an overnight stay or longer if you want to discover the surrounding area as not far to the Llyn peninsula and Snowdonia national park. Would not recommend for people with mobility problems as the village is built on a steep hill with lots of steps if you really want to explore. A shame but no dogs allowed anywhere in the village. The restaurants are quite expensive but food was amazing with excellent service, perhaps could benefit from a cheaper more family friendly place to eat in the evenings as taking the whole family would have been very expensive. Would definitely recommend for a one or two night stay as a couple. A couple of shops were open but weirdly not much pottery for sale in the village, you would have to go into Porthmadog a few miles away where I believe there is a larger shop. You won’t find anywhere else like it to stay in the Uk, truly a unique experience.
