Cally Palace Hotel & Golf Course

We had a fantastic time at the hotel. The leisure suite is great and the staff are very helpful. The family rooms are large and well-appointed. The hotel is in need of some sprucing up in places, but that did not detract from our stay at all. A lovely breakfast (although please don’t let the meat touch the cheese!) with friendly staff all over the hotel.

The hotel was very traditional, but clean. Staff were so friendly & professional. Room a deluxe family room was very spacious with 2 bedrooms, lovely large modern bathroom. Only negative was at breakfast the hot food was not replenished quickly enough, as there were a lot of items which had run out. The staff were lovely so I am sure that this is something that can be addressed quickly enough.

We loved Cally Palace. We were there for just one snowy night and sunny morning in March 2023. The place is so beautiful & bursting with charm. The rooms are lovely with comfortable beds and total black out curtains. Some reviews say this place is in need of an update but that would destroy its appeal for us. The pool and spa were brilliant. We made use of the pool table (which only takes old pound coins, but you get them from the bar), the snooker table, the surprise ping pong table on the 1st floor & the Steinway baby grand in the lobby (you’re probably not actually allowed to play this). We packed a lot in. All of this would be meaningless without the most helpful and friendly staff you could ask for. We were bowled over by how lovely everyone was, all ready to help in a second or even just have a chat. They even went the extra mile & allowed one of us to use a room after checkout time to do some work. We’ll always remember our 16 or so hours in this little paradise.
