The Welldiggers Arms

Well intentioned staff, but a bit incompetent. There were issues with the booking, but apparently that's because of the way hotels.com books it, so if you have a complicated booking with multiple rooms and additions, call the property WELL IN ADVANCE. I had put all the details in and had a dialogue within the app with who I thought was the property. They confirmed everything including the extra cots and beds, but then I got multiple calls on the day of arrival asking the same questions. Also, the property contacted me for prepayment and my card kept getting declined. Turns out, this is not needed and I ended up paying on check out - completely unnecessary stress. The largest family got the smallest room and a broken cot. We were told to book in breakfast the night before which we did and arrived on time to find the pub locked. Turns out the manager overslept. At dinner one night and we asked for water for the table 4 times before it arrived with the wrong number of glasses. All in all, friendly staff, clean room, great outdoor area. Just sort out the admin.
