I had my reservations about the hotel having read some negative reviews. I am a hotel Snob... & I was very pleased with the hotel. The restaurant was manic, but it was Burghley Horse Trials weekend. The food was good, typical Carvery, Harvester, Beefeater type place. The staff were very friendly. I had a ground floor double that backed onto the main road, my friends had twin rooms on either side of the corridor, also ground floor We all slept like babies. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the blackout curtains made the rooms very comfortable. TV,, Tea & Coffee,, hairdryer, Towels all provided. I would DEFINITELY recommend the hotel There is a fuel station across the carpark, with Costa Coffee & Greggs bakery, so if you don't fancy the Marston's breakfast, you can grab a croissant & coffee on the way out

Two overnight stays. Needed good routes to family close by. Check in swift. Very friendly staff. Process using simple card access to room. Room, good size, smelled clean. Crisp white linen on beds. Nice towels. Clean bathroom. tea/coffeee/biscuits. TV. WiFi. Meals in pub 40 yards away. Excellent parking. Petrol station nearby. Sorted.

I stayed at this property for the first time, as a half way point for a journey to York. i was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the property, which included air con. The rooms are similar design to other companies in a similar price range. However, in my opinion, more comfortable. I was in an accessible room, and despite this, there was plenty of room around the bed, which i have found cramped in other accessible rooms. The staff were very welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. I had family who visited me whilst i was staying, and we had dinner in the on site bar/restaurant. They were also pleased with the quality of the food and venue. Visited Baytree Garden Centre, Springfields outlet shopping venue and Vine House farm during my stay, plenty of things to do, within a short car travel distance. Perfect stay, and would have no hesitation in staying again in the future.

Stayed the night before a wedding and when we booked in as a family of 4 we were asked if we’d like to add breakfast to our stay and I agreed. Paid £102 for the 1 night and breakfast. In the morning we were then told that we’d have to pay extra for the 2 kids to eat with us. I explained that I’d paid for breakfast when we booked in and a manager came over to show me the invoice where whoever had booked us in only put through 2 adults even though we’d booked a room for 4. After an already terrible experience in the restaurant the night before, having to stand at the door and explain that unless I explicitly stated I only wanted 2 breakfasts why would you not take for all of us was just too much.

We stayed as we were attending a family reunion in the area. Our daughter and family were also staying and we had family rooms which were spacious and clean with comfortable beds for all. Breakfast was separately taken in the adjoining inn and was excellent value for money - and freshy cooked!!
