I can't recommend this place highly enough. We found it by chance - we were looking on Expedia for a place to break a journey from St Ives to London - and we couldn't have been happier with our decision. First of all, it was excellent value - we are a family of four, and used to having to squeeze into stupidly small 'family' rooms in mainstream hotels. Our room at the White Hart was huge, well appointed and very comfortable, at a surprisingly reasonable price which included a continental breakfast with freshly baked croissants. Secondly, the team at the hotel are friendly, helpful and genuine - there was nothing artificial or pushy about the way they related to us. Thirdly, it's a genuine pub with rooms above (although we heard no noise from the bar at all when we retired) with an excellent selection of local ales. Fourthly, the restaurant is great - fresh ingredients assembled with care and imagination. The wine menu was good too. And finally, it's in a beautiful location which is off the beaten track but is well worth a visit.

An old style hotel but very clean and very good service. Breakfast was excellent. Was very convenient for our family celebrations. Only need is to check time of accessibility on arrival.

The hotel could do with a make over, however, the room was clean and comfortable. We arrived a little early (30 mins) and a gentleman who was opening up begrudgingly let us in. The rest of the staff were very lovely, warm and friendly. We didn't eat here at night, however we did have continental breakfast and it was more than acceptable. We stayed in a family room with our two children aged 8 & 4. The room had a double bed and two single beds, which was the main attraction for us to stay at this hotel (beats sofa beds/pull out beds any day!!) good value for money, would recommend people to stay here and would stay again should we need to stay in this area again.
