The front of house staff were friendly and helpful and were the main positive about the hotel. We ate at the hotel and the staff were helpful in reserving us a table, but when we got to the bar, it was poorly stocked with no beer on tap and no child friendly drinks, the fridges were pretty bare and running out quickly. It took food a very long time to come out (nearly two hours after we arrived so we had some very cranky children) but thankfully it was good when it eventually turned up. The food choice at breakfast was also good. However, the toilets in the lobby were dirty and in poor condition. The rooms were ok but not clean, the bedside tables were thick with dust and the bedding was dirty. They were also very warm (the air con for the room was only in the lounge area so this was freezing while the bed and bathroom were both boiling), and were not soundproof, so trying to get our child to sleep was made more difficult by some very loud jazz music coming from outside.

The family rooms with 2 double beds are good for families. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms have been recently refurbished. The net curtain needed a wash. The breakfast was busy and there weren’t enough staff on so we had to wait for cutlery, bowls etc and the food was running low. It was replenished and the staff were working hard to respond to the requests but it was clear the hotel was fully booked (we arrived late and there was no parking) so I fee they should have arranged for more staff to man the breakfast.

On arrival, parking was very full but managed to find the last parking space. Booked a family room and was allocated a room on the 7th floor. Took lift which only goes to 6th floor and then stairs to 7th. Stayed only one night at full rate. Room was spacious & clean. Huge dry water stain on ceiling but wasn't an issue. Room was not prepared for 4 people as per booking ie sofa bed. On going out for the day I reported this to reception, as well as the toilet seat was extremely loose. Reception said not to worry as it will be taken care of. On our return, our room was well prepared but toilet seat was not fixed and was left in the very loose state that we found it in. Quite dangerous. Breakfast was very nice and plenty of seating at 8.30am but had to wait quite a while for the replenishing of the hot buffet food. All staff that were present at the hotel were very nice and polite but hotel was short staffed due to the religious festival at the time (that occurs every year). Check out was smooth and quick. Overall we had a nice room with nice breakfast that accommodated us for the one night. Would I stay there again? Maybe.

Window would not close in the room, facing a very noisy busy bar which closed at midnight, then early morning traffic noise waking us about 5am. Others from our party also had windows that would not close. No bar area Saturday evening to buy soft or alcoholic drinks, no food, security did not allow my son and another family to eat a take out pizza in the empty seating area at 10:30pm but offered no in house alternatives for food and drink. Having returned from a sport event all we needed was to have refreshments and food and go to bed. Room was clean but around the bath area needed attention as areas were black, not what I would expect when paying 100+ for the night. Location central but not value for money based on our experience.

Numerous small irritations that were just mostly lazy maintenance issues. 1.. Plugs in both shower/bath and sink were faulty which meant prising them up with finger nails or some sort of implement to empty water. 2. Broken/missing shelf in shower 3. Broken missing loo roll holder in loo. 4. Hole in bedroom curtain. 5. Could hear family in next room very easily so disturbed sleep. Overall very poor for £95 per night. Would not stay again.
