Bovey Castle

This is our 3rd time at Bovey & never disappoints. We stayed at the lodges on this occasion as we were travelling as a group. The lodges are lovely & spacious and equipped with everything needed. The grounds are impressive & lots of onsite activities to entertain the whole family. The hotel team are extremely helpful & friendly and make each stay memorable. Always sad to leave but we will return.

The grounds are impressive & lots of onsite activities to entertain the whole family. The hotel team are extremely helpful & friendly and make each stay memorable. Always sad to leave but we will return.

My family of 3 stayed 2 nights and wished we'd stayed a couple of nights longer. The price was steep, however we all thought it was well worth it. The first floor refurbishment (parlour, lounge rooms, bar, 2 restaurants) has been done beautifully. The Great Western restaurant was particularly good. We partook in one of the one hour walks around the property and golfcourse which was lovely. We wish we had time to have played a round of golf. The views over the golfcourse are spectacular and the free visit to see the ferrets was fun. The rooms were very clean, although there were cobwebs in each of our rooms. An issue for these old buildings is bathroom ventilation which causes paint and wallpaper peeling, but to be honest I expect this.

We went there with our 5-year old daughter for a one-week holiday just after easter this year. The hotel, the park, the restaurants and the surroundings are great, but more importantly, everyone at Bovey Castle (staff is professional, knowledgeable, kind, caring, pleasant...) made it very special for us and looked after us particularly well throughout the stay. We will definitely go back, hopefully for much longer. As per the sites recommendation on information useful for other travellers: - very clean, - excellent quality of service, - plenty of hotel amenities: playground, drawing/playroom for children, lots of rooms with fireplaces for reading, chatting or having tea/whisky, golf, swimming pool, spa, nearby miniature pony centre, Moretonhampstead Motor Museum... - hotel location quite unique (see any travel guide on Devon or England)
