This hotel makes you feel at home the moment you pass through the doors, it as beautiful rooms to sit in a fine restaurant and bedrooms the staff are so friendly and welcoming that you feel part of the family. The spa facilities are second to none and the food is of the highest quality served by a team of very helpful and efficient staff. The only drawback I found was in the bathrooms where the shower unit was an old fashioned overhead type that many people don’t like, more modern sliding shower heads would be more appropriate. Also as a large number of Seniors stay at the hotel the bathrooms should have grab handles to assist with getting in and out of the baths. Overall staying at this hotel is a real pleasure and I would recommend it to everyone.

We had a lovely stay here for a couple of nights with our dog and it was perfect! We were given a warm welcome and shown to our room which had patio doors onto the garden. They’re definitely set up for dogs and our room was equipped with treats, blanket, towel and water bowl plus ample tea, coffee, biscuits and water for humans. The room had good lighting, plenty of mirrors and a full length mirror (not always a given in hotel rooms), plus a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. We ate at the Penventon on two evenings. There was a good atmosphere in the restaurant, a special area for eating with furry family members and the food and service were excellent on both occasions. We absolutely hope to come back and spend more time exploring Cornwall from here!

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. From start to finish absolutely fantastic!! We were upgraded to a "Garden suite". The room was very spacious, clean and you had a little terrace. The hotel is run by the Pascoe family. Breakfast was to order and you also had a station for bread, cereals and yoghurts. I would like to mention Mrs P, who makes the most amazing jams!! My favourite was the Kiwi jam. I would like to say a big thank you to Denise Bell and the other staff for looking after us. The pool was very nice and it was big enough for my daily routine. Again, staff in there absolutely fantastic!. I also had a massage by Daniella, who worked her absolute magic. She is very professional and I can only recommend her!! On our last night we invited my husbands sister for a meal in the hotel. The meal was fantastic and the staff, again, very professional and friendly at the same time. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anybody.

Brilliant stay. You can see and feel that the building is steeped in history...sense of stepping back in time. Very enjoyable. The staff was warm & friendly and very responsive. Denise who manages the breakfast was amazing in ensuring our breakfast experience was second to none. And it was delightful. Cannot fault it and will be come back again with the family.

For £138/night very disappointed in the tiny room with poor state of wallpaper & very thin walls-we could hear the person next door loudly. We complained &was moved/upgraded. Ordered Dinner in restaurant & told that chef had said it takes him 45mins to cook a steak why not have a starter?? Summary- public rooms great junior staff great & really helpful, what looked like supervisors marching back & forth through dinning room looking unhappy no acknowledgement or smiles.

Lovely hotel, spacious rooms with friendly staff, beautiful gardens and great facilities. Only down side was that we had to keep asking for extra toiletries each day because 1 bottle of shower gel between a family of 4 just wasn't enough. They were happy to accommodate us with this no problem. Food was really good especially breakfast and the various choices, which they were more than happy to substitute or add extras to.
