Breakfast on the sunday was perfect it was a buffet and loved it .on the monday terrible it was inedible i think it had been left from the day before.spoke to the reception and all the could do was apologise 😞 not really good enough.on leaving the room i always strip our bed and found terrible stains on the duvet again told they can only apologise 😠

Fabulous family stay. The staff were very welcoming and kind and being able to use the pool was a huge bonus we were looking for in our stay. Would definitely book again if I’m in the area.

Fantastic stay at The Crown. We booked a standard double and upgraded upon check in. The room was amazing. Very spacious, clean, recently renovated, comfortable and quiet. We also tried the leisure facilities and could not fault them other than to suggest that some of the table and chairs be replaced with loungers. Would also recommend the afternoon tea. We had this upon arrival. The food was delicious. We will definitely recommend to friends and family and will be back again soon.

Love the area, pool and generally the hotel. The food was definitely not as good as the last time we stayed but staff were still really pleasant. Spent over £140 on dinner for two adults and children, which isn’t cheap (£17 for fish and chips) and it was okay at best. The pizza is described as homemade, however in reality it is basically a large french bread stick with tomato and cheese, and was pretty much inedible. The breakfast was a disaster. It was cold so I returned it, they then replaced with a slightly warmer but still cold and clearly not fresh breakfast on a warmed plate. I didn’t eat and just left it, all the waiter said was are you finished (definitely not as attentive or friendly as the staff in the bar restaurant)? I do really like the hotel but the cottage was tired and needs refreshed, the sofa bed is so bad one of the kids slept on the floor. All in, over £300 for one night’s stay and food, is not great value for money when there were so many issues, mainly with the food. Not sure I would go back, which is such a shame as we love the area and love the hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay family of 4. Used leisure facilities all really well maintained . My daughter left her air pods under her pillow we returned after checking out 3.5 hours later and the cleaner had handed them in to reception for us. We went paddle boarding on the river it was beautiful

Hotel was ok, pool was great. Not sure whether it’s because we had dogs but we were on the second floor which was hard with a 6 month old puppy pulling us and two kids! The bathroom was dated, not clean it had a few hairs on the floor and couple of cobwebs, and a spider! The bunk bed has started to come away but it was not moving it just looked old and tired. The breakfast was amazing and the staff were attentive.

Very nice hotel, excellent for access to family. Perfect access to rail station.
I was disappointed to find that breakfast was NOT included in the price as I had expected.

Emailed in advance with no reply about multiple things one being to see if they could have the spare bed set up for our son. We arrived it still was not set up and were told it was being set up as we were checking in. Took quite a while for them to get it sorted. Had to move the other bed and furniture ourselves to get the single bed to fit in. Having a balcony was a nice surprise but it was raining so unuseable. Bathroom was clean, shower pressure brilliant but the draining of the sink wasnt quite as good. We requested extra towels for using the pool to which we didnt receive so used the ones we had to shower with (i asked if pool towels were supplied in the email). The hotel was nice and quiet. Breakfast that was an add on was relatively tasty, son and partner enjoyed the sausages and the bacon very much. Vegetarian options were also good and provided with soy milk when asked for coffee. Staff more than happy to assist and accomodate to any needs for breakfast. Car park wasn't fantastic but managed to find parking, it was busy as expected though. All in all quite pleased with the overall cost for a little family night away. Son enjoyed the use of the pool very much, i felt like that could do with a clean but the chlorine levels would have killed off any germs so all was fine, a little displeased that we were told we could be in the pool until 7pm but were asked to get out at 6.40pm so they could set up for the next group, again though, kind of understandable.
