Avon Gorge by Hotel du Vin

Booked junior suite for £240 a night. Was hugely disappointed in standard of the room and would NOT recommend. There are 4 junior suites, clearly one has a bath in the room and looks far more luxury (which they advertise with) but it's a lottery which one you are allocated. The "garden view" was of a stone pillar and some concrete slabs (see photo), the access is unmarked to the room down some slippery steep steps (see photo). Sadly they haven't thought through lots of aspects of the room - the cups provided for the Nespresso are too small and over flow...(See photo). What I cannot photograph unfortunately is the plumbing noises - room is at the bottom of the building and you seem to hear every rush of water of toilets flushing above you and baths draining etc. Sadly not asked how our stay was when checking out.

We had a very nice stay at the hotel. We were there to see our children and had dinner which was very pleasant with magnificent views. The service was mixed, in places excellent and less so in others. Attention needs to be placed at the bar. Want to call out the maintenance guy who fixed a light in our room. He could not have been more helpful.
