Great hotel in a good location about 5mins walk from the beach, you just need to cross the main road. Our family room was very big included a shower and bath and they had added a play tent for the kids plus soft toys and their bedsheet were Disney themed which was a nice touch. We went half board and I wish I hadn’t as there plenty of side road restaurants but they don’t look the cleanest.Breakfast buffet was good all freshly baked and cooked! Amazing fruit!our lunch or dinner was not buffet but off a menu so you can choose only two courses but dishes were nice how ver can be boring after you stay 10 days! There’s only one restaurant that does the half board and kids menu wasn’t great the kids were bored after day 4 it’s always the same. After speaking to the F&B assistant we had some dishes made for us as requested which was a nice touch. The staff are helpful and will go over and beyond however if you have an allergy beware NOTHING is labelled and you have to ask a chef to confirm but really be clear as we had a peanut allergy and I had to specify do you cook in peanut oil etc.Pool bar food was good but thts not included in the half board. Prices at Char’d were acceptable but we never had time to try it. Pool beds to be reserved from 6am once my husband went at 7.30 all were gone it’s a problem. Not enough beds for the amount of people.overall good hotel but more boutique!New hair salon was great and kids club used once was nice. Rooftop bar good. No eve entertainment.

There was just so many things wrong with this hotel that I regret I had paid a premium. Booked 3 rooms for my family & was really looking forward to a great time but didn't really because of the location, amenities and lack of quality. Upon check-in around 4pm one of the rooms wasn't ready. What?! Asked for the keycards & was told we will be escorted. Hated that you have to walk through the pool into the room building EVERY SINGLE TIME while everyone lounged. Everyone gathered in my room awkwardly waiting for the last room to be ready. Upon opening our balcony door - it - fell - off. My sister took a picture right away to ensure we wouldn't be liable for this junk. The key card was made of wood, I get it but at least have the decency to change it so often. It is old, dirty, disgusting, falling apart and taped together with scotch tape. We were locked out many times and housekeeping had to open the door for us. Turns out, they taught us that we need to LIFT the handle before pushing down to ensure it worked. Toiletries are basic like any other hotels. A 5-star hotel provides name brand toiletries, shaving kits, mending kits, extra shower caps, alarm clock, laundry bag, plush slippers, Stationery, pens etc. Soaps in ceramic bottles no idea what we're using. Toilet paper so cheap it rolls off. Our private pool area had rat droppings. Tried to use main pool but all hogged up by empty towels. Breakfast was stale old food. The surround area is ghetto. Go ELSEWHERE.

If you want to enjoy your holiday or like us, our honeymoon, AVOID this hotel - If you have a Mountain View, it won’t be pleasant as you’ll just see derelict housing - Cleaning was very delayed for a 5* hotel, usually didn’t come until 3pm. Sometimes it wasn’t cleaned properly, especially the floor. Sheets were never changed too - Full of Russian families, making lots of noise and inconsiderate of other people. - Pool beds were always unavailable, I wasn’t able to enjoy they hotel facilities as there was nowhere for me to ever sit, so I had to stay in my room on the balcony - breakfast is SO busy, food replenishment is poor and lack of timely service - Quality of robes and slippers provided was atrocious - they were fraying with holes and looked like they were very old - Cooking class was led by Chef Pang who was great but the AC was not working so we had to cut the class short as I felt sick. Ended up having a bad experience and didn’t have fun - The walk to the beach is close but it’s VERY busy, I felt like I was in Malaga Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying in Phuket, specially at Avista Grande Karon. We have just moved to The Slate hotel - we’ve spent the SAME PRICE PER NIGHT and omg it is absolutely incredible. The service, comfort, atmosphere of the resort is amazing. I am so gutted we didn’t book our whole stay here.

We had an excellent experience at this hotel. We were travelling with two small kids and the hotel really did go out of their way to accommodate our requests. The staff were simply amazing and friendly, and a special mention to Vanshdeep, Oil, Pearl, Sai, Yulie, Joy and many more. The hotel was great, clean and was in a great location, especially with kids with shops and restaurants close by. We are vegetarian, and options for us were very limited at their restaurant, but that was the only issue we had. Other than that, it was truly a 5 star experience.

I can't express how much we loved this hotel. We travelled with our 8 yr old daughter and she loved the pool and the kids club. This is definitely a 5* property with amazing staff that would help you beyond your expectations. Nothing is a problem and always accomadating. The room was lovely, we had a mountain view room and the space was great. The room was clean and we had our room made and towels changed everyday. The swimming pool was nice and big and the sun loungers was very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with a huge vatiety from asian, indian and western. Fresh coffee and raw juices made to order and just exactly what we love to start the day off. We had half board and the dinner service was excellent. A good variety of choices and the food quality was great. A 5 mins walk to Karon beach and maybe 10mins to the market. We had a relaxing time and would highly recommend. We will definitely be coming back to Avista Grande Karon the next time we visit Phuket. Thank you so much Avista

Excellent hotels and facilities. If you want somewhere that is quiet and relaxing, then this is definitely the hotel. Excellent breakfast buffet with lots of variety including vegetarian Indian, traditional Thai curries, noodles, contintental, fried and much more! We opted for half board as wasn’t much more expensive to do so, and gave us the option to eat either lunches or dinners at the hotel. Excellent quality of food, you could choose two courses from an extensive menu including traditional Thai, European and Indian, which was brought out to you. Our boys also used the kids club and enjoyed time away from the pool when their food was digesting which catered for all age groups as had a pool table, PS4 and also activities for younger kids. Service from all the staff at Avista Grande was exceptional and we will definitely come back again someday.

We were happy with the overall service and food quality of the hotel. The attention to detail in service at the Portosino restaurant is really what stood out for me and my family. The only downside to our stay was some service noise during the afternoon on of of the days right on top of our room without prior notice. We would have been glad if we were informed in advanced or atleast been compensated in some way for the inconvenience.

The place looks relatively new and well-maintained. It is so beautiful. The staff is polite and helpful. Everyday, we are provided with a good breakfast, clean towels in the room. Perfect quiet place for the family or couples.

Overall the property was great. We had a family room with a mountain view and we liked being on the quiet side of the building. Our only complaint was that guest were able to reserve pool loungers by leaving their towel on the chair making it difficult to get a chair even when the pool was not very busy.
