Railay Village Resort

This place has tremendous potential: beautiful grounds, pool, pretty villas. The management needs to invest more into getting this place properly prepared for guests. My first room had no phone, no TV and weak AC. Their restaurant is closed for renovation. The beds feel like tables (hard). If I were anywhere else (not so beautiful) I would have been really upset about these shortcomings. We had to change rooms because of the phone, but TV remained out of service for whole property. My last night there we had someone attempt to break into our room (I confronted the would-be burglar we). I learned then that there is no staff available until 6:00 am. There is no security or help should there be an emergency. This is probably the most troubling thing to me. Fortunately, I am able to protect myself/family, but this could be a bad situation for some other travelers. I really want to like this place, but they need to improve themselves before I would consider returning.
